Barack Obama spent part of Tuesday outside in the rain in Chester, PA, while John McCain postponed his outside rally in nearby Quakertown. Dressed in sneakers and jeans, the rain pouring down as he spoke, Obama addressed the 9,000 who turned out. ""Let me just begin by saying that a little bit of rain never hurt anybody."

Only love
Can make it rain
The way the beach is kissed by the sea.
Only love
Can make it rain
Like the sweat of lovers'
Laying in the fields.

Love, Reign o'er me.
Love, Reign o'er me, rain on me.

Only love
Can bring the rain
That makes you yearn to the sky.
Only love
Can bring the rain
That falls like tears from on high.

Love Reign O'er me.

On the dry and dusty road
The nights we spend apart alone
I need to get back home to cool cool rain.
The nights are hot and black as ink
I can't sleep and I lay and I think
Oh God, I need a drink of cool cool rain.

You've gotta hand it to Obama- out there campaigning in the worst possible weather. And even though Obama showed tru-grit by doing what he has to do in the shittest weather possible you have to hand it to both candidates that campaigning is really, really hard work. Think about it. They spend 2 years to get the job and only 4 years in office. Then they have to do it all over again in 4 years.

America has to do something about this ridiculously long campaign season. Its waaaay out of control.

It wasn't just raining; it was freakin' snowing! (I'm just a few miles away.)

Obama should have been wearing a hat and some warmer clothes. We don't want him becoming another Zachary Taylor.

My question is, is Obama in it for the people Or is he just in it to be the first half black/ half white president?

At least there is an answer to that question for Obama. For McCain there is no answer to the question, "Why is he even running?" The reason McCain is running for President is as incomprehensible as his campaign and his ever-changing positions on all the issues.

But I'm sure that's not the answer you were trolling for, now was it?

Are you really serious? This is a really dumb comment. I wonder if McCain is doing it for the country, or just to be the oldest white guy to be president?

It was very cold and raining that morning. I was there along with thousands of others supporting Obama. Think there are a lot of umbrellas in these pictures? You should have seen it before Senator Obama made it to the stage. :-) Unfortunately, I'd left my camera at home. Thanks for the pics...

We will have a grip. Firmly on the wheels of power with a LIBERAL tri-fecta for years to come and all your side will have is cheese with their whine coz they picked a couple of deadenders to represent them.

LISTEN ALL: Please Go Vote! There has been confirmed reports of voting fraud with the Republican Party and its supporters. Obama is need of all the votes necessary to create a landslide. Let's make sure that our state turns blue! Voting is a right and a privilege. Let's all make history together! (wouldn't you be proud to tell your kid(s) that you contributed to history 1 year from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now or 20 years from now? - I surely would.)

Loved these photos. As uncomfortable as Obama must have been while speaking in pouring rain, he nevertheless should a stalwart side of himself that went over well with everyone exposed to the photos -- especially since McCain cancelled. Sometimes you just can't "call it" better for photo opps!. Onward and upward. Never let it be said that Obama coasted before the election!

These pictures were just fantastic. I am very moved by them, and so proud of Barack Obama. I am grateful that he is an American and came at this time. I am grateful that the people have gotten to know him and see the calibre of the man, and that they can feel how authentically he is motivated out of concern for us. I am old enough to be cynical, and I have seen many poor examples of leadership over my lifetime. But I also know there are great leaders. I am reminded that during WWII, when FDR would address the people on the radio, they would cheer and cry. People pulled together and worked and hoped during the depression and WWII because they knew FDR and his wife, Eleanor, cared deeply about America in the broadest and most inclusive way, and FDR gave them hope. I believe Barack will be a great US President, just as FDR was.
