Palin Popularity Falls In Alaska And Nation

Gov. Sarah Palin electrified the conservative base of the Republican party when she was first picked as Sen. John McCain's vice-presidential running mate, but polls say she has become a polarizing figure since then in her home state.

Palin's supporters regularly refer to her as the "most popular governor in America." But while her approval rating remains sky-high among local Republicans, she's lost the support of Democrats and independents who once formed a significant portion of her base.

sighting their ability for "gut instinct"
policies, reactionary diplomacy, and colloquial charm!

Their history of arbitray war based on subversion and the fact that McCain is a huge mainstay on the deregulation of American financial institutions was key!
And the fact that AZ is near last in health care and eductaion was important too!
Not to mention keating five and the fact that Mccain wanted to give wall street our social security swayed our opinion!

As hateful as this election has been, I can only imagine what the next will be like. It's time both parties flatly reject the nasty campaigning we have been witnessing during the past several elections.
As a voter, I am not persuaded by this, I am not uplifted, I am not informed. It only fuels my cynicism about the entire process. When are politicians and the media going to demand a stop to demonizing the opposition and insist we debate the issues with dignity? Our nation is not well-served by such behavior.
