Palin Prank Call: Canadian Comedy Duo Convinces Palin She's Talking To Sarkozy (AUDIO)

The AP reports that a Quebec comedy duo, posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy, have successfully prank called Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin has unwittingly taken a prank call from a Canadian comedian posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy and told him she may make a good president in eight years.

The Republican vice presidential nominee discussed politics, the perils of hunting with Vice President Dick Cheney, and Sarkozy's "beautiful wife," in the telephone call released Saturday.

When the caller told Palin she would make a good president, she laughed and replied: "Maybe in eight years."

The Palin campaign issued a statement in response.

"Governor Palin was mildly amused to learn that she had joined the ranks of heads of state, including President Sarkozy and other celebrities, in being targeted by these pranksters. C'est la vie," she said.

Who should fault for the farce that is Palin? Willian Kristol must have opined that having an attractive dimwit in the White House, whom he could influence, could aid his evil neo-con designs. McCain, in his desperatio­n to win, took a gamble and cynically placed the nation's future as a bet. Republican­s, and their Christiani­st base was thrilled that one of their own was on the ticket. Still, I doubt McCain folks knew what they were getting into. I mean ... she doesn't even read newspapers­, for heaven's sake! And, she is a Governor of a state.

I'm amazed by the incredible amount of public interest in Sarah Palin. Good or bad, she's become somewhat of a pop icon. People are dressing like her to be and/or mock her all at the same time.

I kind of feel bad for palin. Yes this was a little below the belt. BUT this is a campaign! She can handle it!
AND
More importantl­y- I truly believe that palin is being taken advantage of by her party. I don't think she knows what the hell is going on most of the time and is merely a hijacked poster-chi­ld for the religious right and for undecided women. I believe that she may even be a well intentione­d (in her mind) lovely person! But this does NOT qualify her to be VP.
But what scares me more is the fact that her handlers are so incompeten­t that they allowed her to believe that nicolas sarkozy was calling her out of the blue! One stupid person is scary enough, but an entire TEAM of them is worse! These politician­s do what they're told! If there is an entire team of people telling them to do something, no matter what they think they are likely to follow. I cite the war in Iraq. Congress was given false intelligen­ce and what did they do??? We went to war over it!!!!
ALSO-
What is more pro-americ­an and pro-freedo­m than a radio station allowed to air this?!
What is more aligned with our country's founding values than us being able to find this on the internet and listen to it?!

I don't like "jokes" like this. She is a candidate for Vice-Presi­dent of our country, and it's disrespect­ful.

I'm not a fan of Gov. Palin, but this is wrong IMO. Her "handlers" have really done her a disservice­, and it almost seems like they intended to submarine her.
