I Like ItI Don’t Like It

MSNBC will have hosts AND an anchor on election night, according to Chris Matthew on "Hardball." After Matthews and Olbermann got removed as official election anchors for the final debates, with David Gregory taking the role, the network announced their election night plans as follows:

MSNBC's Election Night coverage kicks off at 5 p.m. ET, anchored by David Gregory with Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and Eugene Robinson at MSNBC Election Headquarters in New York. "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough will join to provide analysis based on his years of experience in the House of Representatives. Norah O'Donnell will report on the challenges facing the incoming administration...

But Monday Chris Matthews announced he and Olbermann are "hosts":

Please join me and Keith Olbermann as we host MSNBC's election night coverage, and there's nothing like it anywhere else. And David Gregory anchoring."

Gregory is the walking definition of a corporate golden boy, the president of a college fraternity, and the guy who seems always to be in the right place, like a sidekick to Brokaw. I'm sure the GE brass love him, he's the prototype organization hustler. Gregory could could be dropped into a role in "30 Rock" without a change of clothes, any makeup, or a script.

I am too through with Nora on MSNBC trying to keep up that myth about the Bradley Effect. She and all the others who are giving McCain every chance in the world makes me sick. They even showed his rally today like it matters to somebody.

MSNBC needs to get on the ball and realize that people who watch their shows are very intelligent and know who they are voting for. We do NOT need to be sold at this late date. If McCain didn't get all his advertising in before now, I feel sorry for him because he's just wasting his money running all that crap now. All those adds took me right from MSNBC yesterday and put be back on regular TV. All those McCain lies were too much to bear.

WAKE UP MSNBC.

The Rev. Wright ads have been running constantly the last two days both on MSNBC and CNN in this red state where McCain is going to win anyway. The ads are really disgusting. I guess they will pollute the T.V. coverage tonight, and since they won't make a difference here, they are simply hate speech, which is eaten for breakfast here.

Keith said the same thing last night. And, he said Rachel and Eugene would also participate.

David is incompetent. He has no grap of the issues, asks no incisive follow-up questions, gets poor ratings, and puts people to sleep.

Why is he anchoring anything? Someone over there must like him because they let go of D Ab rams and kept David. Big mistake.

Hey MSNBC magangement: If it weren't for KO, Rachel and Chris you'd have zero viewers. Why don't you let one of THEM anchor and get rid of David?

David Gregory is anchoring because he is a favorite of Tom Brokaw, who is jealous of
Keith Olbermann and critical of Olbermann's style of journalism. Gregory is a dunderhead.
Imus used to say he looks like Howdy Doody. Brokaw and Gregory are both Republicans.
Gregory's wife had a top position with Fannie Mae.

Let us pray that Obama will win tonight and that there will be a change of guard at MSNBC.
I want Joe and Mika and Gregory all GONE. And we really don't need to see Pat Buchanan
ever again.

“On February 10, 2007, Senator Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, announced he would run for President of the United States. I decided that day I would become a U.S. citizen. Having lived in the U.S. as a permanent resident since I was nine years old, I never felt the need to become a citizen… until that day.”

...Republicans who lie do not deserve "equal" time. We do not allow idiots in a classroom equal time to spread the wrong answers. Why do we have to do it as an adult????

MONEY rules in the media. They don't think with good sense when a dollar is involved. I believe they would allow sa t an himself to speak to us for the right price.

I'm a faithful MSNBC viewer, but I must say I've been HIGHLY disappointed to see them airing this latest Rev. Wright/Obama Too Radical sleeze ad the last few days. It's fair to show pro-McCain ads that aren't pure scare attacks (rare as they are in that campaign), but this type of crap belongs solely on FOX Noise. It seems especially contradictory to run this during shows like Countdown, which people tune into for a rational alternative to Oreilly/Hannity propaganda. The only way we'll ever get true healing and unity in this country is for responsible network execs to say screw the money and reject divisive hate-inspiring association ads, whether from Republican or Democrat.

Isn't that the truth. It's like they're slapping their own face. It's a shame how money can make people lose their religion and sanity. I know that had to be a blow to Keith's mind because he mentioned it slightly and I knew exactly what he meant. MSNBC you need to wake up and stop manhandling your good people like that. If they leave and go somewhere else, you would surely be the blame.

From texmike: reject divisive hate-inspiring association ads, whether from Republican or Democrat.

AGREE. Fair, honest, fact-based criticism is fine, that's what all media should be showing.

It wouldn't be any fun without Chris and Keith, I think Steve Capus, Pres of NBC News knew that just how David Gregory's ratings are in the tank compared to Hardball and Countdown.

I wouldn't have watched if it was just the lugubrious Gregory. What a downer. He can't even match Blitzer's energy level. Now I'll watch MSNBC knowing the others will be there.

Gregory is also a closet Republican.

Anybody who followed his daily White House briefings knows exactly who he supports...whether he has the guts to admit it or not.

David Gregory is boring. Just zzzzzzz...

I need Keith and Chris tonight; this is too exciting and important to leave in Gregory's hands.

Please Allow me to clairify: David Gregory IS an anchor, successfully dragging down MSNBC and Matthews & Olbermann are hosts to alien brain suckers.

Hopefully Rachel Maddow gets some face time in.

I'm not sure why you'd have it out for olbermann and mathews. It was Olbermann that asked Maddow to cover for him on occasion for countdown and it was olbermann that recommended to MSNBC that Racheal get her own show.

So who are the alien brain suckers?

They are of the same mindset, olbermann & maddow, the jury is still out on matthews though.

Chris was right about one thing, there's nothing like it anywhere else. Looking forward to watching the MSNBC coverage--especially Chuck Todd on the map. I think Chuck Todd should get the anchor on Meet the Press after the election--Brokaw is just annoying and softballs all the Republicans. I thought he did a miserable job of trying to muddy up Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack. He needs to go back to retirement and write his boring books no one reads.

Mark my words: Katie Couric will be the next host of Meet the Press. She wants out of CBS, CBS is willing to go in another direction with their Evening News (up), NBC will want her back in the family, and she'll get MTP. She'll be back closer to home in Virginia, and politics is her schtick. And she was a disciple of Tim Russert. And lastly, SHE IS GOOD. I think it will work.
