NEW YORK — Newlywed shock jock Howard Stern was on hand to cheer his new bride complete the New York City Marathon in style.

Beth Ostrosky finished Sunday in 4 hours, 15 minutes _ much better than the five-hour target the 36-year-old former model was aiming for.

"This was the happiest day of my life," said Ostrosky, who ran to raise money for Long Island's North Shore Animal League.

"Isn't she beautiful?" Stern gushed as daughter Ashley, 15, also hugged her stepmom.

Stern, 54, who married Ostrosky last month, had done his part that morning: Making a carb-loaded breakfast of bagels stuffed with peanut butter and bananas.

"She ate a ton," he said.

More food was on the way after the race. "We're going to celebrate with some sushi and some pasta," Ostrosky said. "A lot of sushi and pasta."

Ostrosky said what kept her going most through the more than 26-mile course was, "I just kept thinking about seeing Howard and Ashley on the finish line."

Thankfully it's over and now we don't have to hear about Beth's training for it anymore...between that and all the hours devoted to his wedding, he's been a real bore lately.

As she ran up he said "you'd look so much hotter if you ran with less clothes on."

Yeah they got married... so her name isn't Beth Ostrosky any more... it's Beth Stern.

Congrats to Beth, for finishing the race and for winning the lottery twice.

I stopped listening to Stern when he came out in favor of the Iraq War and mocked anyone who came on the show and tried to say something against it. He only takes on the system when it suits him. He had a chance to take a stand and he bowed down to George W. Bush.

Leave the woman alone! I usually roll my eyes at these people. But she did an interview recently on account of her charity, and I truly think she is a living doll. So, she isn't Madame Curie. Who cares! She came across as a wonderful, decent person with a very good heart. Howard is lucky and I wish them both love and happiness.

I loved Stern on terrestrial radio, but once he defected to satellite, I scarcely thought about him again. Is he still popular?

Eff Stern. Typical celeb dump the wife who was with you when you were nothing for a 'model'. Stern is a cliche.

Try again, skateboy30. Or better yet, do not comment on things you know nothing about.

Stern's wife left him.
I'm no huge fan - but, get your facts right, idiot.

Howard and his wife had a fairly amicable divorce. She is now very happily married and so is he. Their kids seem to be adapting well to their modern family. I say good for them all.

This was the happiest day of her life?

Don't woman usually consider their wedding day the happiest day of her life?

Seeing she's been married less than a month, could this mean there could be trouble in paradise?

If women are supposed to feel this way, I hope men are too.

Running a marathon cannot be easy.

I have run two half marathons and really got sick training. I train regularly, but more than ten miles and I am achy and exhausted for days. I don't know how people do it.

KUDOS!
