After Obama signs were taken down in Placitas, New Mexico, Gary Priester, a graphic designer, and a neighbor, went to work putting them back up.

People went down the main highway through Placitas, New Mexico where I live and removed the Obama signs. I had a neighbor who has a large format printer print some signs which I put in place of the missing signs that read OBAMA SIGN REMOVED BY REPUBLICANS - (OBAMA LOGO) YOU CAN STEAL OUR SIGNS - BUT YOU WON'T STEAL THE ELECTION.

In Mission Hills, San Diego, CA
Obama signs are removed from our lawn and replaced by republican signs, also, daily, YES on Prop 8 signs are placed , we remove them and tear them apart before putting them in the trash.
Neighbors have seen young guys in bicycles placing the signs. They are placing their signs in other people's properties, trespassing.
This has been going on for the last two or three weeks.
Can we hold the Republican campaign accountable for these violations?
Can we let them disenfranchise and put roadblocks for voters?
If they are undermining the most essential democratic expression, they must be prosecuted!

someone posted that a local McCain office paid teenage boys to steal Obama signs. I bet they threw them away in their dumpster. It would be interesting for folks to go to their local McCain offices dumpsters and post pictures if they find Obama signs in the dumpsters.

I smeared my sign with a tool and die makers non-drying dye. It is called Prussian Blue, mechanics use it to check how parts fit. It almost matches the blue background on the sign, very difficult for the cowards to see at night. Someone got caught blue handed. I just hope they threw it in their car.

I've got my rural Texas sign rigged with a hidden pocket alarm. To thieves I say: bring it. Or, uh: take it.

yeah, these sign wars are unreal! Yesterday I had my Obama window cling zipped off my car at the NOBLESVILLE INDIANA POST OFFICE during the less than 4 minutes that I was inside.

Wankers!

I live in Fl. and some of my neighbors proudly wave their confederate flags. At an intersection by our local grocery store there was a huge sign under a traffic light that said "CHANGE."

When my husband saw it he took a picture and sent it to me. We were poud and excited. Within two days it was gone. We were disenchanted with our neighborhood to say the least.

Yesterday as I was leaving the grocery store, waiting at that traffic light, a local politician goes to that area to put up his campaign signs. He and his wife move a huge sign that has been knocked down. I see it is the Obama "CHANGE" sign.

I call my husband and tell him. He and I go back with tools and our two youngest children with us and put that sign back up. PROUDLY. "CHANGE" as our neighbors watching as they drove by.

I get back into my van to head home, the radio turns on an John Lennon's "Imagine" begins to play.

Sometime's things are bigger than us, when it occurs it is humbling.

I had three Obama signs stolen from my yard, along with the rest of the Obama signs on my street. We picked up two more signs from our Obama campaign office and added a homemade sign that says "Attn: Sign Thieves -- For every Obama sign stolen from this yard, we will make a $20 donation to the Obama campaign."

I live in TN and mine didn't last 24 hours.
So I just donated more money to Obama's campaign!

However, I live in Washington State, and there are very few McPalindummy signs anyway, but just to be happier I will continue to be cautious.

My sign was stolen about a month ago. I'm in central Texas. I put it up during the primaries in March. I was surprised it stayed up as long as it did. I found it at the end of my block sticking out of the gutter. Good thing I ordered two.

KISS MY A$$! BARACK THE VOTE!!!!

If someone steals your sign and you can't get another in a hurry, MAKE ONE! It will undoubtedly have more of an impact than any mass-produced sign, because it will show that you were committed enough so devote your time to it. Even better, have your kids help you make one. Use an old bedsheet, some poster board, shelf paper -- whatever you have. Just make the letters very big so the GOPers can't miss it!

PS My sister's sign was stolen from her yard twice. And twice, a helpful neighbor got a replacement for her and placed it on her lawn. Let's pray that for every bad 'un out there, there are two or three good 'uns!

Mine was stolen two nights ago.

So I took a McCain/Palin sign of a city street and spray painted OBAMA on it.

er, 10 out of 10 for spirit, 0 out of 10 for thinking when this is most likely being offensive in a way that only our side takes heat ;)

This is easily the most creative campaign in the history of American politics. All of the workers and volunteers are doing a fantastic job!

I live in rural Alabama in the heart of McCain country. I put my Obama sign up about 2 weeks ago, I also have an Obama magnet and bumper sticker on my car. Every morning I get up fully expecting my sign to be gone, my back windshield busted out (where I have sticker) and car magnet gone. I've also expected to see a burning cross as they are still a tool used around here (last time just a few years ago when a neighbor had a black man at her home.)

Surprisingly, no one has taken my sign or magnet, my car is still in one piece and no cross has been burnt.

I consider this progress! If Obama wins tomorrow that may change but I remain hopeful.

The cross burning anecdote is scary! But mebe people around there are thinking Obama is the best choice now. Stories like this make me think the polls are underestimating Obama's support

I can send anybody who has a large format printer a 24 x 18" 300dpi JPEG file. It's a bit under 2MB

Just e-mail me and put sign art in the Subject line
