Obama Election Night Rally Prep: Updates, Video, Photos

***UPDATE 11/04***

The Chicago Tribune reports on the crowds that have already started gathering for tonight's Obama rally.

With the sun beaming summer-like weather over Chicago's Grant Park, hundreds of excited ticket-holders were lining up this afternoon, waiting to enter tonight's rally for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Some were from Chicago, others trekked from Texas and Tennessee, and still others flew from as far away as Colombia, all for the chance to possibly witness history if American voters elect the country's first African-American president.

Watch video about preparations for the rally.

Both the Tribune and the Sun Times have helpful guides with everything you need to know about tonight's rally.

From the Associated Press:

Barack Obama supporters without tickets to his Election Night event in Chicago can still be part of it in Grant Park.

City officials announced Monday that a jumbo TV screen will be put up in Butler Field for the overflow crowd that's expected there.

Obama's ticketed event is being held farther south in the lakefront park on Hutchinson Field.

An event permit application says 65,000 spectators will attend.

City officials wouldn't estimate the size of the overflow crowd.

But Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has said as many as a million people could show up.

The city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications says everyone will be required to enter Grant Park through Congress Parkway and all other entrances will be closed.
