After Governor Sarah Palin's "Wardrobe-Gate" scandal, which revealed that
the Republican National Committee spent had spent more than $150,000 on the the VP candidate's clothing and makeup, Michelle Obama appeared on "The Tonight Show" and told Jay Leno that she has more modest taste. "Actually, this is a J. Crew ensemble," she said of her yellow sweater, skirt and blouse ensemble. "You can get some good stuff online," she added.

Well, now J.Crew is cashing in on the would-be First Lady's endorsement, advertising the ensemble as Michelle Obama's Look and urging shoppers to "Buy now, before it sells out".

Check out images of Michelle wearing J.Crew as well as J.Crew's new, politically leaning campaign below (it's even a sponsored Google link!):

I'll bet that Michelle Obama was drawn to shop JCrew online because they have a great selection of TALL sized pants, suits, and jackets. They also sell size 11 shoes. I am also 5'11" and at this height it is difficult to shop off the rack at most stores.

I followed the link to the J. Crew site, and I wonder if anyone can tell me why their women's clothes (all I looked at) are displayed all wrinkled and used looking, worse than if they just came out of the dryer?

I have shopped online a lot, and all the sites I have visited for women's clothes have displayed them to their best advantage.

Hey she looks nice and the outfit doesn't cost $150,000 either.

All I know is that women in the United States do tend to take fashion cues from the First Lady, unless she's really old (like Barbara Bush) or has truly horrible taste (like Hillary) and I am SO glad they aren't going to have to try to emulate Cindy McCain's million-dollar ice princess look.

The pieces are great apart but I didn't like it together. I still love michelle though.

I used to order lots of J. Crew clothes, way before anyone knew who they were. I still like J. Crew, but they've gotten too "in" and change their clothes & colors every season like everyone else.

WAY more cool and better than Talbot's or Gap or JC Penney or.....many others. And cheaper than Armani etal... So, good for Michelle. She's got style.

I'm a JCrew poster child and it's because their stuff DOESN'T look like everyone else. It's preppy, conservative, but still not boring. I loved Michelle Obama's outfit because it's a daring pick and not everyone looks good in that color.

I really like the outfit, but it's too bad it doesn't come in petite sizes. Come to think of it, J.Crew's petite selection has dwindled quite a bit over the last couple of years. At least the dress version of the Michelle skirt is available in petite sizes! I'm sorry, but as a short girl, I find it sad most people don't think being short is as big an issue as being larger. We have size problems too!
