RICHMOND, Va. — Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden cast a vote in Delaware and then raced to Virginia to encourage supporters in the Southern swing state.

Barack Obama's running mate visited a polling place at a school in a modest Richmond suburb Tuesday morning, shaking hands and hugging voters. He was accompanied by his wife, Jill, and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine.

Biden signed autographs and posed for photos with enthusiastic voters and their children.

In the school parking lot, Biden had a private conversation with 19-year-old Wayne Phillips, a first-time voter. Phillips suffers from sickle-cell anemia, and poll workers helped him cast his ballot from the back seat of his car.

Biden told Phillips, "Thank you, man."

Joe Biden: you are a hero to me and to all of us who have suffered family tragedy that turned our lives, our souls around and something that would connect us to every human being alive today. You have my deepest admiration as the great man you are, the great statesman, and the greatest VP to be in American history who will work diligently with all of us citizens to turn the difficulties in America and this tired world around...We are with you in mind, body and soul and we will work tirelessly with you to make this administration and the next the very best in American history..God tries all of us in our lives and also tries a whole nation...with your courage and our collaborative work, "yes, we can."...Yes we can. God bless you and your work on this earth and the work of Barack Obama.

Isn't it a security risk for both Senators Obama & Biden to be in Chicago together tonight? With all the work that's gone into ending this war, and the countless other Bush madnesses, would it be prudent (excess, one would hope) caution for them to stay apart until inaugurated?

For anyone who hasn't gotten to see it--check out the article in the November Vogue magazine titled "All the Vice President's Women". A very good article about all the women in Joe Biden's life. Mother, wife, daughter, granddaughters and daughters-in-law. Page 302. It was well worth the purchase for me. I don't buy magazines all that much, but when I heard this was coming out on October 21st, I told my husband I wanted it. The casual portrait at the first of the article is wonderful.

It feels so good to have wonderful, wholesome, TRULY AMERICAN FAMILIES in the spotlight for a change. The Obama and Biden families demonstrate what is good about America!

Nicole Wallace and Mary Matalin have been everywhere whining up a storm. When they are announced, I exercise my right to use the channel changer! I wonder where these two will turn up next? Surely Fox News is getting full of out of work Republican politicos!? Maybe CNN could use a few more.

I love Biden & Obama but I don't doubt that McCain has a truly American family. I have doubts about Palin's family since members of that family have belonged to a political group that actually hates America. But its election day, lets keep it positive!

I didn't know this until now, I really like Joe Biden. Not because he is Obama's running mate, but because he is a decent man who, after all those years in Washington, is able to show the human side of himself without really trying.
