Barack Obama saved his biggest Virginia rally for last -- a jam-packed event in Manassas with 90,000 people reportedly in attendance. For his conclusion, he "reached back to the roots of his campaign to tell an inspirational story that had long ago fallen from his routine."

The story is about a long drive, a rainy day and how one person can make a difference. It was inspired by a woman he met during a visit to a small South Carolina town in 2007 and became a favorite during his Iowa caucus campaign.

It ends with Obama leading a cheer of "Fired up, Ready to Go!"

Obama ended the event on Tuesday by telling the crowd: "In 21 hours, if you are willing to endure rainfall, to take the person who was not going to vote to the polls, if you will stand with me in a fight with me, I know that your voice will matter. I have one question for you, Virginia. Are you fired up? Are you ready to go? Fired up? Ready to go? Fired up! Ready to go! Virginia, let's go change the world!"

Meanwhile, a fired-up John McCain told supporters to "be strong and fight" in an election eve rally Monday, his last before voters in swing state Nevada weigh in.

"My opponent is measuring the drapes in the White House. They may not know it, but the Mac is back! And we're going to win this election," McCain said to the screaming crowd. "Don't give up hope! Be strong and fight!"

The Arizona senator's evening rally at the Henderson Pavilion was the final leg of daylong, multistate campaign blitz. The candidate appeared surprised and energized by a crowd that greeted him with loud chants of "USA!" and "American hero!"

More than 10,000 people attended the event, according to facility manager Dianne Mizelle. The number makes it McCain largest in the state to date.

President Barack Obama.

Vice President Joe Biden.

And I still love ya, no matter who you support or what you think.

Thank you to everyone who voted and especially those who voted for out CURRENT president, Obama, and all those who worked so hard to get us here.

wdw101 is SCARED haha! And with that attitude, what makes you think they'll be voting for you're candidate? Thanks for bringing them onto our side, buddy. My brother-in-law let all his employees have a half day to go vote, treated them to lunch, and his secretary had already swore a Black man would never be her President (although a half-Black, half-Arab Muslim is already her boss, and buys her heart medications from his own pocket!)

wdw101 please know this:

No matter what you do or how much you quote this and that...a change is coming. You certainly deserve to vote for who you want. You deserve to run your business if you have one. However, you have to admit that a change is coming-and the people in this country are aware. Have you seen the people who are snaked around the buildings? That's change. So what tally you keep on your employees (if you have any ) may not seem to matter to these people-they have lost enough over the last eight years-what can your four days do when Ramen noodles are on the menu every night?

Change is coming. You can't stop it. Tricks wont work this time...the people are speaking....why don't you stop and listen...

That was by far his most inspirational, hopeful speech yet. It gave me chills. I watched at home, alone, clapping, crying, and cheering. I responded the same as the crowd, even though no one could hear. I am indeed "fired up", and "ready to go"!

Obama/Biden 08 and beyond!

To help fight anxiety about the outcome, here's some feel-good Obama that you can watch between rounds of phone-banking:

I can't hardly wait, I feel like my heart will explode...and I'm not even eligible to vote! I am in Kenya and over here the atmosphere is electric to say the least. You would think we were electing our very own President. Americans, do us proud and vote Barack-Biden! Vote for CHANGE.

wdw101 says: "the law states 2.5 hours or a reasonable time.......i let the voters go at 8:00.....i will not be blamed for long lines.......i have a business to run"

oh what BS that is. I doubt you have ANY employees. You sound like the type who lives in his Mom's basement living a fantasy life on your computer.

On another note: any employer who only gives his employees 2.5 to vote if there are reports of long lines in the area ...is ANTI AMERICAN to the max AND afraid of the results.
12:03 PM on 11/04/2008
i see anything within the law that you don't like is ANTI AMERICAN.......good thought

Maybe you should be fined for this bad behavior.

and who can be fine for following the law

I was at the rally in Manassas. It was joyous and I am so proud to be an American.

It was especially important for me to be there and show my support since earlier in the day a friend had been denied a hot dog at the VFW because she was wearing an Obama button, and my granddaughter's day care director told my daughter how concerned she was over an Obama victory because she was told in church that Obama was going to outlaw Christmas.

Truly sad.

God the level of ignorance and fear in this country is truly mind boggling.

These Churches need to watch out for their tax exempt status!
12:04 PM on 11/04/2008
i agree take away all churches tax exempt status.........
11:51 AM on 11/04/2008
it is a right of a business to deny service to anyone as long as the reason is not a protected class
12:53 PM on 11/04/2008
The VFW is not a business. They receive donations and tax money to operate, therefore, they can't deny service to anyone.

Thanks, but no thanks to that point to nowhere! Nice try!
