Obama Presidency Sends Hyde Park Over The Top

Hyde Park erupted in cheers Tuesday as it became clear that longtime resident Barack Obama would be the next American president.

The crowd at the Hyde Park Hair Salon, where Obama gets his hair cut, started chanting "Yes We Did! Yes We Did", according to the Tribune:

"This is something you see once in a lifetime," said Slaveyko Marnov of Hyde Park, referring to the country electing its first African-American president. "I am very happy tonight. When Barack is elected, he will bring stability to the middle class. Also he is a wonderful person: He's steady, he's an intellectual, a family man--so many things."
