I swear to God , if you wanted to see humor on election night 2008. I had two televisions on one with the real news and Fox . Just people who looked like they wanted to cry at Fox news

Stephen is so sweeeeeeeet. He is my hero, and I love that he wears his heart on his sleeve.

I'm your average joe(38 yr old male), and I was fine until the Grant Park introduction of the Obama family as the 'next First Family'. Not sure why, but the enormity of it didn't quite hit me until then. I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. Both the Mrs. and I were glassy eyed. I did little besides contribute $, but I feel so lucky to have witnessed this moment.

Wonder if they were crying because they're going to have to pay more taxes....lol

:)

Yes, I'm sure that was it. I mean, wasn't that the reason the rest of us got all emotional?

Maybe Steve was crying because he just realized he's going to have to work four times harder to make jokes because he won't have a president lobbying softballs at him.

Yeah, that's it. It couldn't have anything to do with feeling proud of their country for having overcome it's "original sin" of racism to elect someone who represents a hopeful future at a time of crisis.

It's all about taxes.

You DO realize Stephen's "acting" like a conservative RIGHT?
You realize his entire show is a PARODY?

I didn't noticed when I watched the episode that Jon was tearing up after he made the announcemet. It was so emotional I had to watch it a couple more times on comedy central website and endure all their commercials just to watch it again a couple of more times. I love Jon and Steven. They are great people. It's thanks to them that I have endured the losses of the last eight years with laughter. Thank you guys!

Has Sean Hannity declared it "over for Obama" lately?

I'm sorry, I know we're supposed to pull together and everything, but the M-P campaign was just downright nasty.

I feel the same! Ah well, it hasn't even been a week, we have time to gloat and feel utterly RELIEVED, after all, Bush is still our president as Obama says, we've got some time to get it out of our systems.

I knew Obama was going to win and I was watching Stewart and Colbert on election night but at the moment Jon Stewart announced that Obama had won everything felt differerent. I could even see it in Stewart's face, he looked dazed, it was a very surreal moment. And to see him tear up--it just shows that everyone is human. The moment was very powerful.

New Zealand goes to the polls today (8 November NZ time), and I'm desperately hoping that some kind of "Obama Effect" will help influence enough voters' minds to prevent the demise of a government led by the most enlightened and competent Prime Minister this country has had since before living memory.

May you be blessed as we were, on our election. We can't underestimate the devastating effects of poor government--it needs to be stopped before it starts. In our country, the damage and loss of lives was tremendous. Good luck!
