ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Gov. Sarah Palin hadn't been back home in Alaska for a full day and her staff had begun fielding requests Thursday for postelection interviews, including from Barbara Walters, Oprah Winfrey, Larry King and others.

Palin had been expected at her office in Anchorage but later notified her staff that she wouldn't show up after all. She remained at her home in Wasilla, located 40 miles to the north, but was expected in her office on Friday, spokesman Bill McAllister said.

"The intensity of all the interest is amazing. Everyone wants to talk to her," he said.

Palin is coming off a whirlwind nine weeks of almost nonstop travel and campaigning since becoming Republican John McCain's vice presidential running mate in late August. McCain and Palin lost Tuesday's election to Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

"I think she's been working from home," McAllister said. "Maybe she just liked the idea of spending a whole day at home. It could be the first time she woke up in her own bed and spent the night in her own bed on the same day since late August."

Aides to McCain and Palin, meanwhile, responded to reports of tension between the two sides over the Republican Party's purchase of more than $150,000 worth of clothing for Palin and her family, and accusations that Palin was ill-prepared for her role.

Randy Scheunemann, McCain's foreign policy adviser, called the idea of a split between the two campaigns "laughable."

"It's hard to believe these people worked for John McCain. They obviously have no loyalty to John McCain and no loyalty to his running mate," said Scheunemann, who prepared Palin for the vice presidential debae.

"I've worked in Washington for over 20 years. I have seen literally dozens of politicians, and Sarah Palin is as smart, tough and focused as any politician I've ever seen. I'm proud of the time I was able to spend with her," he said.

Meg Stapleton, a campaign spokeswoman for Palin, said the accusations were unfortunate.

"We have the highest regards for Sen. John McCain," she said in an e-mailed statement. "Gov. Palin was honored to be chosen as McCain's running mate."

Palin returned to Alaska late Wednesday night, her final flight in the McCain-Palin campaign plane. Dozens of supporters greeted her with chants of "2012! 2012!" as she walked off the airplane _ encouragement for her to run for president in four years.

Asked by reporters if she might run, Palin said: "We'll see what happens then."

The governor said she hoped to work with President-elect Obama on energy policy.

She returned home after spending Tuesday night in Phoenix, where she watched election returns with McCain.

Sarah, President - elect Obama is not going to call you to work on energy policy or anything else. With the issues facing our country we'll need reasonably intelligent people to get these issues resolved. And you madam are neither.

It's really quite simple. She got VPOTUSA mixed up with "Queen for A Day." She got the prizes, clothes, cheering crowds, her 15 minutes. Well, the day is over & she's no longer queen. Try getting those clothes back from her or the family, like First Dud's duds, kid's LV bags. I'll bet she even kept the kerchief with the democrat donkey on it. Six colleges, a degree, and this is what we get? Wonder who she winked at to get that degree. But, as bad as she is/was, and she set a new low for public officials, the real blame is McCain - whether he knew she was this ignorant or not, is inexcusable. That the ticket got as many votes as it did is still frightening. I hope America will learn from this. Know your candidates, demand vetting & detailed information about them. If they can't face the press, don't let them run. When you think of what might have happened to our country had they won & something happened to McCain....she's the doomsday machine from "Dr. Strangelove."

Sarah, honey, I hate to be the one to tell you this ... but you really need to do a reality check.

You were not picked for your brains. You were only picked because you are a woman ... period. You were only picked bec. the men who picked you have such low regard for women they thought women were stupid enough to support ANY woman. They were WRONG!

If you think for one minute that Gawd forbid McCain won those men would let you do anything shy of carrying coffee to them YOU ARE WRONG! They had NO INTENTIONS of you 'acting' as VP. Most likely they would have moved you and your family OUT of Washington all together.

If you think for a 2nd minute that Romney is going to let YOU shine brighter than him in the GOP crowd ... think again ... he is just like YOU - he is only out for himself and he will destroy anyone who might get in his way. If you don't believe me then why don't you find out which former Romney staffers, who worked WITH YOU, are responsible for calling you a "whack job" and letting the press know how ignorant you are ... like your ignorance on Africa etc.

No dear, you were a token, a token to be used to win and then tossed aside like all tokens.

It's time you wise up dear. This aint Alaska where it only takes 100,000 votes to get elected.

Palin will stay in the public eye - she is great fodder for the late night comedy shows and provides a constant stream of entertainment for the starved 24 hour news networks. Whatever will Sarah say next? Imagine the possibilities, Is Indonesia the capital of Asia? No? It is mostly Muslim? So is it in the Middle east? And what is with all that celebration in Kenya? Does Obama have connections with Kenya, a great city in the country of Africa? Is it mostly Muslim? Oh, so is it in the Middle east too? Given that she is keeping an eye out on Russia from Alaska, can see the misssiles being sent to the border with Poland? Where is Putin's head at today?

Sure, some people are already hinting at a Palin run for the presidency in 2012. I suspect these people are giving her too much credit.

True, she is a moderately savvy politician, but she also is blissfully ignorant about the inner-workings of anything beyond the borders of Alaska. She has the faux folksy charm and lack of intellectual curiosity of George W. Bush and the Machiavellian mindset of Dick Cheney. Do we really want to relive the nightmare of the past 8 years?

Palin may very well return to a much more hostile Alaska. She was riding on the coattails of an over-inflated price for a barrel of oil that delivered huge profits to her state. People were willing to give her a pass with respect to her management style so long as they shared a piece of the profit pie.

Well, the price of oil has plummeted and as a result, the Alaskan economy will suffer. Her statewide ratings have already dropped 20 points, and the increased scrutiny of her conduct while governor has given many Alaskans another perspective of her leadership. I suspect we have only seen the tip of her "mismanagement" and "abuse of power" iceberg.

By the next election cycle, Sarah Palin will very likely no longer have the positive image or clout to contend for the presidency. In fact, she may be lucky to get re-elected as governor.

I'll be waiting for the blog from AKMuckraker at Mudflats to tell us the rest of the story... I know that there were plans to "welcome" Sarah home with a protest. I'm sure those photos will be coming soon!

Shrieking Sarah needs to stay in Alaska and sink into oblivion. It likely will not
happen. She fired up the pentecostals and the Dupes who stay glued to the Fox
Newsfixers Channel and swallow whole the right-wing bilge.

Perhaps next time she seeks national office (if there is one), she'll
speak in tongues and have someone anoint her with the hands-on ritual found
mainly in the pentecostal churches that include the Assembly of God (hers and John Ashcroft"s) denomination. The successul trick has been to convince the Dupes, Cretins, and
other species of the vacuous that Jesus is a Republican who loves the flag. From
all this we may find Sarah shrieking on Fox news as a frequent guest or even as
a regular co-anchor with one of the scoundrels at Fox.
