Last night Stephen Colbert hosted MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on his show...and cemented her status as the hottest new host on television by immediately being competitive with her ("How many Peabodys do you have?").

Maddow, clad in sneakers and her trademark thick glasses (well, Air America trademark, not MSNBC trademark), was typically self-effacing - especially when Colbert brought up her pal and MSNBC mentor, Keith Olbermann, whom she quickly declared the "King of Cable," and also confirmed that he is not, in fact, a chicken. Also, apparently the new king of Bhutan is HOT.

Watch below:

p.s. Rachel Maddow's half CANADIAN? Wow.

She's also a Rhodes scholar, among her other may accomplishments.

I adore Rachel Maddow. It is always a great thing to see a strong woman voicing her opinions yet when you listen to her the words aren't coming from the "woman's" point of view. It's an every person point of view. She is incredibly smart and I love that she picks out some quirks to discuss along with the normal news. Rachel Rocks!

We've been told for so long that American men don't like smart, strong, talented women. Then along come two more on the long list of women we adore, Tina Fey and Rachel Maddow. Another bit of dubious conventional wisdom bites the dust.

Rachel, I love your show. Watch you every week night. So many of us are grateful for a logical approach to punditry, and we're glad you're doing what you do!

OK, I love her, but did anybody notice that everytime the word "chicken" was spoken, she cackled like..... a chicken?

Sometimes I wonder what will be Rachels career before she wins the presidency in/after 2016. What a gem.
