Just another reason why there must be term limits in political office. Two terms and you're out. We'll get new crooks, but at least we won't have the old ones.

The good people of Alaska must be so proud of re-electing a convicted felon. Maybe we should let this welfare state leave the union. They could rejoin Russia.

Apparently, the GOP guys like DeMint are happy to tolerate the behavior that got Stevens convicted, but not the fact that he is convicted. The time for this guy to stand up and protest Stevens would have been when he first found out what Stevens was doing. Their outrage also seems to be directly proportionate to whether it is likely that another Republican will take the place of the guy expelled or not.

I'd start an investigation of DeMint right away. Any time a Republican wants somebody impeached or expelled, you can bet the house that they're guilty of something ten times worse.

Golly gee, I just hope I can keep my job once I become a felon, just like that great American Stevens.

I agree. Besides, the guy will have all his power stripped from him....other than his simple senate vote. He will no longer have any pull in getting earmarks for Alaska. I don't think that Alaskans will continue their affinity for this slimeb@ll when they discover he's no longer 'bringing home the bacon'. Leave him in.

If a felon can't vote, how come its ok for a felon to be a member of government?

Have they arrested him yet for possessing guns by a Felon? Also felon's can't vote so will he be allowed to vote in the Senate?

If a normal citizen is found guilty of FRAUD they would not be able to get a job with any significant responsibility!

Yet Alaska may elect this Fraud even though he could not work at McDonalds!

Maybe Tod Palin was right! They should be a separate country, as they do not respect LAWS or Courts!

Somebody tell Ted Stevens he can't take it with him when he goes. What an embarassment he is; 84 and still on the take.

Am I the only one who thinks elected officials should be held to a higher standard? When they break the law, they should automatically get the stiffest sentence. And they surely shouldn't be able to draw a pension for life after conviction. And we wonder why there are so many criminals. I'm sure W will probably give him a free pass before he vacates the white house with the drapes.
