I Like ItI Don’t Like It

10-year-old Malia Obama first hit the campaign trail before sister Sasha was alive, and was there in 2000 when her dad lost his first run for office. Since then Malia, born on the 4th of July, has traveled the country and grown to past her parents' shoulders. When she moves to Washington she looks forward, she told Access Hollywood over the summer, to redoing her bedroom.

Absolutely beautiful!

Malia is a beautiful girl. She seems to have a such a sweet personality. I hope that they can have as close to a normal childhood as possible in the White House.

While I understand the need for privacy... it's not like these pictures were taken as some sort of recent photo shoot... or by paparazzi chasing them down on their way to school or some other normal activity. This is just a collection of pictures already taken.... of things already shown.... that were done during various political campaigns.

I'm so pleased to see that many other people besides myself are asking that this intrusion into the lives of these children be stopped. A couple of days ago, there were only occasional complaints. Now I'm seeing frequent ones.

Thank you for not only seeing that these slideshows aren't a good idea, but for saying so.

sigh - slideshows like this are not really in good taste. These girls aren't asking to be spotlighted and I only see it getting worse as they get older. They're beautiful little girls, and there are creeps out there whose obsessions are fed by stuff like this!

It makes me a little sad to see this photo montage of a beautiful child. She and her sister have seen the last bit of "normal" life. They'll never get it back. Barack Obama's family will never be out of the limelight.

If most Presidential children are off limits to media scrutiny, I would hope this would continue and the Obamas would be keen to continue this tradition.

Is it just me, or does she look a lot like a young Jada Pinkett Smith?

Malia is way more gorgeousl than Jada. She could be the future Miss Universe.. Remember this is her awkward stage. Just wait a few years, Barack better keep an eye on that one!!

Not one bit. She's prettier than jada frankly.

While I agree that these beautiful girls need privacy, it's good for people to see what a happy, well adjusted family they are. Even the Cosby syndrome can change the most hard-hearted racist's views. As someone noted, even the vilest racists are not trashing these girls. They've done so wrt Michelle though.

Hopefully, the media blitz will abate and the girls can return to as normal a life as presidential children can have.

The media need to leave them alone...it has been a tradition of having the Presidential kids off limits, let's keep it that way...the kids are cute and all, I get it, but let them have a real life and not some distorted celebrity tomfoolery.

Why do you call it Cosby Syndrome? Just because their family is black? I'm just saying that it's an insult to compare a minority family that doesn't act like the stereotypical ghetto-family and call them the cosby's. I'm sorry but most families are different from the next just like any other race of people. Do we call every average white family the Brady Bunch? No. Because it seems people assume that most white families act "normal" but let a black family be normal as there are many that are and they get compared to a fake family on T.v

It always strikes me that the evident love and admiration those two children have for their father is overwhelming--it comes out of every photo I see. It is admittedly one of the reasons I got behind Barack Obama. The man knows not only the meaning of love, but how to put it in practice, and it's reflected in the unspoken language of his children.

I think that Malia (a Hawaiian name which means quiest, gentle water) is going to be a worthy, positive role model for girls in our country and the world as she matures. Finally! Good riddance Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. I agree that we should allow them to grow up away from the spotlight but i also believe it is inevitable that she will be emulated by young girls.

Um, the "girls in our country" already have a great role model... her name is Chelsea Clinton. Despite everything she went through in the media, she grew up to be a well adjusted and productive member of society.

The kids today do not know who Chelsea Clinton is nor do they care. Please...they know Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus-Hannah Montana, etc.

Wonderful adorable family and kids...but can you please stop posting all this stuff about his kids. They are just that kids and they have the right to grow up without tabloid pictures and news cameras around.

Please leave them alone and let them grow up to be free, strong, brave and fearless...it's hard to do with a camera in your face 24/7

True enough, Barb, but to some degree it will be unavoidable. Like I said earlier however, it was the evident love of these girls for their father, spoken to me through pictures such as these, that became one of the principle reasons I got behind Barack Obama.

She is a beautiful little girl and Sasha is the cutie pie baby doll...however can you stop posting pictures of them now? This slideshow is OK and thank you but leave these girls alone. I know the pics are public but as they go into the White House, we will see less and less of them and I'm afraid that the media will take that as a green light to pry into their lives. As much as we love and adore Sasha and Malia Obama...we need to understand that they are not our children, they don't belong to us to look at and ooohhh and ahhhh at how beautiful they are.... and we must let the first daughters grow up in peace and some kind of privacy...thank you
