Palin To Break Silence On McCain Aide Attacks In Fox News Interview

Sarah Palin has kept something of a low profile since the election. While former advisers to the GOP campaign leak dirt about her to the press, her only comment so far has been a refusal to comment. But she's ready to break her silence. From a Fox News press release:

FOX News Channel's Greta Van Susteren will present the first extensive post-election sitdown interview with Governor Sarah Palin during On The Record on Monday November 10th at 10PM ET.

Van Susteren will conduct the taped interview in Wasilla, Alaska and present Monday night's show live from that location. The whole hour will be devoted to Palin who will speak with Van Susteren about accusations by McCain staffers of dissent within the campaign, the outcome of the election, and her future role in the Republican Party amongst other topics.

I just watched some of the interview, but missed the last half (walking the dog...higher priority!).

Anyway, I think she seemed more confident and a tinsy bit smarter than we have seen her before being in a friendly interview and in her home territory. She still can't construct a sentence nor does really answer questions.

The clothes issue....she said the clothes were there when they arrived in Minneapolis. HELLO! She acts like it was a surprise. They had to know her size, and the rest of the families sizes. Where did that info come from. I think she is telling a little white lie here.

I want to know if Greta brought up all the name calling, divisive and hate mongering rhetoric she engaged in during the campaign. Just last week she was stumping in high school stadiums pushing that agenda. Did Greta mention that Sarah claimed Obama was buddies with terrorists and he was a socialist and a communist? Is Sarah standing by those comments? After her congratulations to Obama? Sorry...I don't buy her line of %$#@.

This woman is a liar and you could see it in her eyes in the part I saw. I can't wait for the rest of the press to take a look at this interview and see their take.

And sense the Republican's are supposedly God fearing, the bible says, you reap what you sow, and she sowed a lot of hatred, so she recieves a lot of negativity back!. It should come as no surprise that Greta van Susteren will jump in to defend Gov. Palin. Although she downplays her connection to the controversial Church of Scientology, (http://www.sptimes.com/Floridian/121398/High_profile_couple_n.html)
she is clearly advocating one of its "agenda items" in defense of SP. Since February, the Church of Scientology has been under attack from a group calling itself "anonymous" which, according to sources, is giving David Miscaviage and his followers fits.

Greta is taking the Scientology road-"don't believe anonymous sources". It sounds awfully familiar.

Agreed, but I also don't think it was "hateful" to bring them up--all the handwringing about the negative McCain campaign. An opposing campaign was correct to put that information out there. It helps voters get a fuller picture of the man--just like I want to know about McCain's lapses in character or judgment (Keating Five, etc). Wright and Ayers were legitiamte issues; fortunately voters had long enough to digest them to decide they didn't matter that much in the long run. If those stories had broken in October the outcome would probably have been different.

Gee, I don't even have to watch that interview. After watching the few interviews she's given, I can easily fiqure how it will go.

Well, as long as she's on FAKE News, I don't have to worry about being subjected to her. Don't we already know how this will go? GVS will ask "tough" questions (yeah, right). I read that article on the telegraph and am glad that Palin is far away from the mainland- one reader commented that the telegraph was equivalent to the National Enquirer here- not true at all. It is a serious newspaper on par with the New York times.

Granted some of my discomfort is due to how this clip is edited,

but Van Susteren's sophomoric and vacuous "questioning" does something that I hadn't thought possible: it makes me feel a twinge of sympathy for Todd Palin who is obviously uncomfortable at being subjected to the revolting adulatory tripe that is spouting from his interviewer's mouth.

This kind of awe-shucks pandering to the Joe six-pack demographic who will watch the clip and (what? identify and react positively to the populist title "first dude?") is what narrowly missed all of us.

As pitiful as Van Susteren is in this clip, I take great heart from the fact that this video serves most of all as a cautionary tale of what would have been in store for America had the elections gone the other way.
