Matt Lauer's Divorce Laughed About On "Today" Show (VIDEO)

Matt Lauer's marital history sent the "Today" show host and his co-host Meredith Vieira into a fit of laughter Monday morning.

Intro-ing a segment on the "right age to get married," Vieira said, "I got married in my 30s, when did you get married?"

Lauer — who married TV producer Nancy Alspaugh when in his mid-20s, only to get divorced seven years later — stuttered, fumbled, and then laughed, as an embarrassed Vieira burst into laughter and producers shouted, "Nice!"

Lauer's marriage to Annette Roque, the Dutch model, has also been peppered with problems. The pair separated in 2006 and subsequently reconciled.

Okay this is gonna sound weird, but for some reason I don't like Matt Lauer. I think it's because a while back, Al Roker made some disparaging remarks about epilepsy and Matt laughed along with him, unaware of or oblivious to how hurtful Roker's remarks were. This is a painful topic for me, and I took offense at the whole thing. So each time I see either of them, I get this Pavlovian reaction to them. On another note, that segment is just not that funny, although MV seems kind of smartly funny.

Poor Matt Lauer - if same-sex marriage were still illegal everywhere in the US, he almost certainly would still be happily married to his first wife.

I so love Meredith Vieira! Her tongue is often faster than her brain what makes her break all the conventional "rules" of the U.S Entertainment News media charade. I loved how she reacted - almost said Sh.! even - when she noticed that she just asked Matt one of the "forbidden Questions" and threw Matt totally off his game. It was even for their entire team evidentially hilarious too, as they know this is going to cause more “talks” about matt's personal life.
For Example someone "accidentally" asking him if he is in just straight gay or bisexual!

So many people are divorced today, I did not see what the big deal was. People should preface their questions with " the first time" As in when was the first time you were married?

Before my divorce in 1981, my mother told me that divorce was expensive and worth every penny. I paid for 15 years and never regretted it. Mom was right.
