Washington Post:

Armed with millions of e-mail addresses and a political operation that harnessed the Internet like no campaign before it, Barack Obama will enter the White House with the opportunity to create the first truly "wired" presidency.

Obama aides and allies are preparing a major expansion of the White House communications operation, enabling them to reach out directly to the supporters they have collected over 21 months without having to go through the mainstream media.

Just an off topic note. Notice in the above ad that the weight loss product transforms an overweight Black women into a chubby White woman. How miraculous!!

Great idea. I'm sure it was influenced by our African-American governor and Obama confidant Patrick Duval of Massachusetts. He had a comprehensive web database of supporters prior to election that helped defeat the lies and smears of his republican opponent. Since his election I've received weekly updates of the governors actitivities and notification of events where the publics input on issues is requested as well as volunteer opportunities in communities throughout the state. The influence of the MSM papers in Boston has been marginalized because we get the info every week straight from the Governors office. If Barack follows Patrick's lead this will truly be a government by the people and for the people.

I have never felt so connected to a candidate in my life! I hope that somehow he finds a way to keep us together, all of us connected to him. He became like part of my family. Like someone you love to hear from even if it's just a forwarded mail sometimes. I look forward to knowing how I can personally help. I want to remain involved. I like the "personal" messages... my first name, signed Barack or Michelle. It was great feeling like he wanted me to know directly from his lips to my ears. Anybody understanding me?

I hope he uses the network to not only inform but also to solicit ideas and take surveys of potential polcies. To be empowered by the President, what a thought.

I have loved being able to communicate my concerns and wishes to the Obama campaign these past many months and rather rueful, thinking it was all going to end. This is just great news!

Great news. As I watched how comprehensive the campaign website became I held a hope that Obama would carry it over into office. With the launch of www.change.gov, it looks like that was the plan all along. Fantastic to have direct communications without the media filter. Keep it coming!!

YAYY! This is awesome news! This isn't going to be an "obama presidency" - it's going to be OUR presidency.

Good going, Obama!

This is awesome. How will we all react with a government that reaches out to us and keeps us informed? Love it!

And we will all love being a part of his Administration just like we loved being a part of the campaign.

Bypassing the MSM is the only way we can get this country back on track.

By modifying the news to suit their own ends, they (the MSM) have become a big part of what's wrong with this country.
