She obviously has all her faculties, she's a survivor, she's wise, fearless, honest and a great example of integrity to her peers of all ages, too many of whom have adopted the jellyfish as their mascot. I don't understand why ageism is one vice that many progressives allow themselves and why others (who know better) don't call them on it.

Bush was notorious for ignoring Helen. I saw a documentary about her and watched footage of Bush being rude to her during press conferences. He even gave her seat away at one point and ended up having to give it back after he was widely criticized.

Helen should no longer be considered a journalist. She should be admired for her longevity but her objectivity has been gone as long as her working ovaries. Washington has enough partisanship, we don't need Helen and her left-wing bias.

Helen was the first person I heard of who called GWB the worst President in history. I hope she yaps after Obama's heels like a nasty Yorkie. The best way to keep any President on his toes is a critical press. Something almost completely lacking for the past 8 years.

I'm sorry, but talk about a cult of personality. Why? Because she's lived through a dozen presidents? And now she wants to go after Obama? But I certainly noticed that her fawning acolytes didn't ask her about Sarah Palin, either. Way to be completely uninformed. Perhaps you could google "Helen Thomas" and then you would know who exactly you're talking about.

She is amazing. She's one of the few members of the media who actually does her job. Her job, might you ask, IS to go after Obama and any of our other elected officials to get answers for why and how they do what they do and inform the public of what's going on.

Her job in doing such is the reasoning behind freedom of the press. She is awesome. I'm sorry you don't know her and that you're not interested enough in your duty to be informed to find out who she is.

I like that Thomas has directly challenged the early choices (Rahm) made by Obama. As usual, her instincts are right on the money.

I remember that Ronald Reagan always made sure he took her questions. Why? Because she always had something to ask that kept him on his toes and made him be able to show off how smooth he was at answering the difficult questions at his many press conferences.

I'm sure if he were still around, he would delight at seeing her back in the press room again. (And who cares about Sarah Palin as the voters have decided that she should have nothing to do with the White House and actual policy making on the Federal Level).
