Poll: McCain's Help Could Hurt Georgia Senator
As Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) travels to Georgia today to stump for Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.), a new poll suggests the former GOP nominee could hurt Chambliss among independent voters.
In a poll published yesterday by SurveyUSA, 30 percent of Georgia independents said they would be less likely to vote for Chambliss if McCain campaigned for him, while 5 percent said a McCain swing through the Peach State would make them more likely to vote for Chambliss.
