"Top Chef" Ratings: 2.7 Million Watch For New All-Time High

Bravo's "Top Chef" continued it streak of record-breaking premieres Wednesday night; the fifth season debut setting a new all-time high.

The New York edition was seen by 2.7 million viewers and earned a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49. That's up 19% among total viewers and 27% in the demo from March's fourth season opener.

Love the show, Love that one of the winners came from Chicago. And, when people worry they eat., and right now we have a whole nation of financially frustrated worriers, eating, eating to Top Chef.

Padma's a goddess, fairly surprising when you consider all those infusions and reductions and gastriques and foams and deconstructions she tastes. (I love "gastriques." It's the new coulis, apparently.)
