Debbie Matenopoulos's Husband Files For Divorce

E! television host Debbie Matenopoulos's husband has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, Los Angeles court papers show.

Jay Faires, a music executive, is requesting that the court not award Matenopoulos spousal support. He indicated their property rights are to be determined.

The couple married in July 2003 and separated in March 2008, according to documents filed Wednesday. They had no children together.

If my next-door neighbors were getting divorced and I posted that info here...would anybody lose sleep over it...or even care? This kind of non-news fits that mold and we could use a lot less of it. I would rather be looking at a blank page if there was in fact nothing newsworthy to report on a particular day.

I will add that I am well aware of the paradox that occurs when posting about something that I claim to not care about. I hate it when that happens. To be clear, it is this *type* of information that I object to...not the particular details of the story itself. I firmly believe that this kind of thing is at least partially responsible for turning the minds of many Americans into mush.

Men & women of Greek ancestory can be stereotyped as demanding spouses. Perhaps, each marriage is unique & a marriage fails or succeeds for unique reasons. Human beings are complex creatures.

Ya, try marrying into a Jewish and Italian family friend! You are so typical in your steriotypical BS. All groups have control issues, its NOT typical for a Greek family, this is 2008 and many things have changed. I have 2 family members that married into a Jewish family and the parents were fighting him day and night for years. They were not accepting of him marrying their daughter, they thought she should marry her "own" kind because of tradition and cultural norms. So, please stop the bs.
