Glenn Beck Accosted At Wendy's: "You Racist Bigot!"

Conservative personality Glenn Beck was accosted at his local Wendy's Saturday night, he said Monday on his radio show. In his attempt to procure a Frosty — "Everybody wants a Frosty," he said — he was stopped by a truck driver with food in his hair and called a "racist bigot."

"I wanted to say, I think you have me mistaken for someone else, but I knew he knew who I was and he just hated me for who I was," Beck said.

Beck's full Wendy's rant below:

It happened to me at Wendy's Saturday night. We are on the bus and we stop to get fuel and I said, I'm going to go in, I'm treating. Everybody wants a Frosty. I'm going to go get Frosties. And one of the security guys, said, No, you're not. I said, Yeah, I am. I mean, it's a truck stop. How much trouble am I going to get in in a truck stop? Everybody here you can trust. You're not going in. I went in, but I had to bring the swat team with me and so I'm just, I just want to Frosty, please, the guy standing next to me, who, by the way, I may point out. Had food in his hair, is a truck driver and he turned around. He looked at me and the recognition was immediate and he said, You racist bigot! And I just said -- I wanted to say, I think you have me mistaken for someone else, but I knew he knew who I was and he just hated me for who I was. You conservatives that have destroyed this country! And the hatred was so deep, it was breath taking. Luckily the swat team was there and I just separated myself from him and he just shouted through other people and there were children in the restaurant and he blamed me for everything, I believe including the Holocaust, and the hatred was palpable. The guy screamed at the restaurant, you better not let me see you in the parking lot because I've got a truck and I'll run your ass over! Wow. Is this who we've become? Is this who we've become?

The TV and radio personality recently signed a deal to jump to Fox News, where he will host the 5PM hour starting in spring 2009.

The voice for honest, accountable, fiscally responsible, and limited government is... GLEN BECK?

My apologies, I read "Conservative personality Glenn Beck" and I forget for a brief moment that none of the things I listed above apply to the "conservative" doctrine anymore. For a moment I thought the Republican Party and the Conservative movement actually had some principle, forgive me if I seem confused; I just forgot that everything that "conservative" used to mean no longer applies.

Glen Beck doesn't speak for all conservatives, I wouldn't even necessarily call the current GOP leadership (or Glen Beck) very conservative, or a Republican for that matter. Once in awhile I find myself agreeing with him (rare, but it does occur), but that doesn't mean I'd ever endorse his rather eccentric views on Homeland Security and the War on/of Terror, among other issues.

I'm a registered member of the Republican Party, a believer in a Creator (although I don't endorse a particular organized religion or denomination; To be honest I find that "Flock of Sheep" is often taken a bit too literally, it reminds me of the Borg hive-mind in Star Trek. -Yes, I'm a nerd and proud of it.), and I'd consider myself a strong fiscal conservative with a slight "left" lean on social issues.

Yeah, and just because beck said this happened, doesn't mean it actually did. So far no witnesses from this crowded Wendy's have corroborated...I guess they must all be experiencing some sort of liberal-witness bias. This story sounds just as realistic as Ashley Todd's.

Well, Glenn, if by, "Is this who we've become?" you mean: people who will call BS -- LOUDLY -- when BS crosses our paths, then by God I sure HOPE this is who we've become!

Someone should find out who that guy was because -- food-wearing or not -- he had the guts of his convictions, and we need to give him some kind of cheap (but shiny) plaque for that. THAT'S what heroes are -- people who do what needs to be done. And he didn't have to have a SWAT escort either, to stand in line for a Frosty.

Glenn -- if you seriously need police protection, to go out in public -- and you are not President Obama -- then perhaps your should think about the reasons why. Having your nose rubbed in it like this, would be a good opportunity to think things over, about the way your life is trending...

It is no mere coincidence that "Glenn Beck" is moving to the Fox News network, the old saying of birds of a feather do seem to flock together is true with all the racist, bigots, hatemongering purveyors of such trash, it is no surprise Sean Hannity guest hosts Neil Boortz, a avowed racist, bigot, advocate of re-establishing the "Old Jim Crow education/tests for right to vote", guess he missed the memo decades ago when it was ruled unconstitutional by US Supreme court, any wonder why their ilk wish to stack the Supreme court with their kind?
