How Did Sarah Palin Spend $150,000?

Sarah Palin's stylists sure had to work hard to drop $150,000 on dressing the former Republican V.P. candidate. Vanity Fair's fashion department took Sarah's budget and came up with a dream wardrobe that would fit the bill. (They threw in her husband Todd's $40,000 budget, too, just for good measure.) Even if Sarah was outfitted with a Valentino dress, an ostrich weekend bag and a croc handbag, a Patek Philippe watch, and an Hermès silk scarf, there would still be about $100,000 left over. And what about Todd's spending spree? That's equivalent to nearly six Ralph Lauren Purple Label suits. See, no matter how you slice it, it's not all that easy to spend that kind of cash!

Michelle outclasses Palin for pennies on the dollar.

This story is old and has been explained. I wish the media had been as occuppied with looking into all of Obama's questionable past associations.

I think that was done to death, but for some people 2 + 2= 4 will never be good enough.

I didn't see all those new boots she was wearin' on that list. I'm thinkin' that a few things were left off.. and which Patek Phillipe only costs $22,000?

This woman is representative of everything wrong with America - and that is without the materialism. ................

I don't know how you guys end up on these threads complaining about the content. It's like watching T.V , something is on you don't like you just change the channel.

I hope someone keeps digging on this story! There is the hypocrisy of Sarah Sixpack needing to dress out of Vogue to be "just plain folks" but also a question of true accounting for all that money.

Because she may "rear her head" in 2012 she must be exposed for who she really is.

Who cares??!

What's more, why is HuffPo (of all places) still talking about this woman?

Okay, I'm still wondering why anyone would spend that kind of money on clothes if it was painfully obvious that McCain's prez bid didn't have that much money to begin with.....

That did not make any sense at all...

Since Sarah Palin knew that she had to return the clothing when the campaign was over, and since she had to know that the last day of the campaign was on November 4, shouldn't she have asked her aides to pack up everything that was purchased for her and leave it in Phoenix for the RNC to pick up to be donated? That wouldn't have been difficult. Then there would be no need for aides to be madly sorting all the things she packed to take back to Alaska to "find" those that weren't hers.

Or might it just be that she planned all along to bring the goodies home and see what she would be able to keep??

My thought was that she would take the ones she really wanted to a charity in Alaska, make the donation, then buy them back at the deeply discounted prices (or have someone do it for her). That way she would have obeyed the letter of the law. Not ethical, of course, but certainly legal!!

Yup. She planned all along to keep the stuff herself. Then when her hypocrisy was exposed, they made the claim about the donations to charity. Give me a break! Wouldn't it serve ANY charity more if she had spent wisely on the clothing and donated the rest in cash?? SP does not know how to tell the truth!

What I don't like is the soft ball questioning she got from Fox News, they just let her give her little, "it's no big deal explaination, the clothes just showed up." Never was there any follow up questioning, well then why did you bring the clothes back to Alaska?" To me Palin was B.Sing and trying to minimize a very serious issue, and Greta just let her get away with it. That was inexcusable, especially after the big deal made about the $400 hair cut, which I didn't care about because it was his own money. But boy people sure made a big fuss about it in the right wing media.

$12 for condoms for Bristol? That would have been smart, eh?

If not some condoms at least get her an IUD, put her on the pill, explain how the rythm method sometimes works or just make her stay home and behave herself. Girls like that are better off with both an IUD and condoms since they tend to be forgetful about pill taking and are likely to pick up the clap or herpies.
Sara is far to busy with her own indulgences to worry about the kid playing house at 16 with some unemployed 18 year old High School boyfriend..
$150,000? Heck, the Palin family can spit that.
I'd bet she wonders what all the fuss was about.

Maybe some of you ladies can clear this up for me, but how does a bra cost $580, I know Sarah was lacking some serious support during the election, but $580 for supporting the gubernatorial fun-bags is a bit much.

Read the article.

"Vanity Fair's fashion department took Sarah's budget and came up with a dream wardrobe that would fit the bill. "

The phrase "dream wardrobe" is code for sophisticated readers to know that Vanity Fair made up the list.

This is a ridiculous distraction. What you all should be clamoring about is to see a list of where the bailout money has gone. Who really cares about this and why is it a big deal? Let's see a list of every penny every candidate in every race spends and where. I'm sure this list wouldn't be so different from the rest. Put your outrage in the right place, congress and the gross waste of taxpayer dollars.
