Brad Talks Kids: Shiloh "Only Wants To Be Called John"

Pitt tells Oprah Winfrey, in an interview to air November 19, that quick outings are thing of the past. "We don't go to the mall," he says, adding that preparing for a car trip is an adventure unto itself.

"It's like a half-an-hour just to get everyone buckled in and make sure they've got their snacks and Z.Z. (Zahara, 3 1/2) has got a blanket and Shiloh's got her silky," he says. "Angie's militant about it. She's right on top of it. Thank God because I'm always forgetting something."

He also shares 2 1/2-year-old daughter Shiloh's latest quirk. "She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it's a Peter Pan thing," he says. "So we've got to call her John. 'Shi, do you want...' - 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?' And she goes, 'No!' So, you know, it's just that kind of stuff that's cute to parents and it's probably really obnoxious to other people."

I wouldn't let my kid see John Voight either, he is a war-mongering ah**e who cheated on Jolies mother. Boy there sure is a lot of jealousy and hate against these two, I just don't get it. I think what they are doing is fantastic period.

I could understand 3 kids, or even 4, but what I can't understand is 6 kids within 4 years. . And how does Maddox feel--going from being the only fella to the big brother of a rapidly increasing brood? I feel a little sorry for him. Brangelina's babython makes no sense. I have a feeling somebody is trying to feed a need for constant attention, or even more likely feels very empty inside and is trying to compensate.

Look, they can well afford as many children as they want. The fact they have adopted children no one wanted and then added to their family by having their own is sweet.

Sorry Darleen, but I have to agree with Missjabez's good point ~ which you apparently missed. Having the financial, material resources or emotional drive/motivation to have a lot of children doesn't necessarily mean being a good or competent parent (esp. over the long haul). It's easy, too, to adore babies & small children & want as many as possible ... but they do tend to grow up pretty fast, you know, into what will be 'their own persons' one day ~ & they will have to move away from Mom & Dad Jolie-Pitt in order to find their own place in the world. In other words, they will need not only roots (and food & clothing) ... but also, wings.

John Voight is a heart to us all, isn't he? I wonder if Brad's wife understands this? I know she was worried in the emergency room Brad would not propose before the baby twins were born, and we all knew Brad was sorry they had not married before the blessed event, - yet we know the white hat at the delivery day said it all. He was the married man giving birth to the new born arrival's from Angleina Jolie, daughter of|The Midnight Cowboy. It was all cool. I was happy to get Brad's letter during this, not knowing of her pregnancy, and yert at the time we wer all focused on saving the people who wanted to survive and stay in New Orleans and rebuild their homes. When you are home, no one can ever take that away from you, right? It's like when you break up with someone, - no one can ever tell the chilren involved you don't love them anymore, because you know and the child knows - no one can ever take that away from you. On the other hand, if there is corruption involved, life and all circumstances are altered - fate is a fickle thing.

Awww! I thought the story was so cute! Brad seems ... no he is genuinely happy! A father is what he was yearning to be. Those of him who would have condemned him to a life with Aniston on the Red Carpet are so selfish. Aniston didn't and doesn't want kids apparently and that's ok too. He got what he wanted and she got what she wanted, so let it go! Some of the best moments of laughter I have ever had was watching a child. I watch my grandchildren like television! I have three and wish I had 30 mor, but my daughter says she will probably have only one more in the next five years. I can't wait to be 55!

John and Peter are who are having fun, in "Peter Pan". Wendy is who is put to cook and care for them. So no, this isn't about being a boy or a girl. It's about identifying with whoever you recognize yourself the most in - and in this case, those are the two being active and having fun.
I'd say it sounds as if Shiloh is a kid satisfied with her childhood & her opportunities to play & enjoy.

"They"? The "they" that thought the Bradley effect would come into play this election? The "they" that had Hillary as a front-runner/shoe-in? The "they" that know small towns are the real America? The "they" that thought it smart to deregulate the banking industry? The "they" that wanted to privatize Social Security?

Which "they" know so much about Aniston's sexual procreation prospects? The same "they" that went on and on for pages about Jolie's breast feeding and how wonderful it was that she was standing up for breast-feeding mothers everywhere? (The same "they" that were eerily quiet when she admitted she quit after 3 months? 3 months, by the way, is about the amount of time the body takes to lose the pregnancy weight while breast feeding.) The same "they" who attack Aniston for deserving what she got but question Mirren's inference that women attack women more ferociously?

This would be one of those moments in life when I am glad to not be one of them or "they" because then I wouldn't be one of us... the us that judge based on what we actually see, don't claim to know what goes on between a married couple and who don't fall for every PR stunt pulled by perpetually "retiring" actresses.

I think this is the same interview where he discusses Pax peeing on a sofa. Of course, the story is only cute when it involves a 3rd world orphan, a $200,000 sofa and the studio picking up the tab. It falls into a therapist's "How to Tell Your Child is Unhappy" book any other time.

That's not fair. Pax was in an orphanage for three and a half years. He didn't understand under shorts under shorts, he had never had a tub bath. He had apparently spent a lot of time naked, which is reasonable if you only have one set of clothes.

It's probably not fair to Pax to tell the story, and the $200,000 sofa is ridiculous.
