That was great fun - Colbert unscripted. Harry Smith kept up as well as one could with the genius that is SC. We don't get too many opportunities to watch SC improvise. His timing and jokes are impeccable when he is scripted (I count him as the reason the country saw that the Emperor had no clothes after that incredible White House Correspondents Dinner) - but to be able to see him just do his thing, even if there are a few clunkers, was wonderful. Looking forward to the Xmess Special.

Hmmm. Sorry, can't help myself but I have to point out that if those state shapes were cut with a table saw, I'm betting they went through a whole lot of carpenters from saw kickback. Perhaps a band saw?

Colbert is a genious, and I think Smith did fine keeping up with him. Part of the fun of watching the Colbert Show is watching how his guests interact with his character -- some overdo it, some are like deer in headlights, some don't seem to get him at all, and others mangage to find the groove.

This has to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Did they run out of news?

Colbert is only funny on his own show... with scripts. I hope his writers are paid handsomely.

OMG that was just weird and ackward....but the end was funny when the anchor guy couldn't catch Colbert's feet.

CBS is still not call MO. Nate Silver of www.fivethirtyeight.com makes a convincing argument as to why, despite the fact that Obama is within the margin of the uncounted votes, we should all admit that it's just not going to happen in MO.

Well we can dream I suppose :-)

CBS's Newswire must have gone dead that day. Or the writers were sick. Damn, Colbert had carry just about that whole thing.

It was painful watching the host trying to keep up with Colbert's brand of humor.
Totally awkward. You can tell by the way Colbert looked at him after each over-reacted reaction.

Yep. I couldn't agree more. It was honestly a little painful to watch.
