From Editor & Publisher:

NEW YORK King Features Syndicate is launching a new service that allows Web sites to link to some 60 daily comic strips online and split ad revenue from the venture.

Comics Kingdom, described as "a first-of-its-kind digital platform" allows newspapers online access to 60 of the syndicate's strips, including "Zits," "Mutts," "Blondie," "Beetle Bailey" and "Hagar the Horrible."

Newspapers will share revenue with King Features and have 30-day access to each strip's archive. The new service also allows users to share comics, comment, and employ other interactive tools.

This isn't news. There have been large, encyclopedic, catholic collection sites which feaure cartoons from all syndicates(sp?) on the web for years. Google it, EDITOR & PUBLISHER. There are times when traditional print on paper media, including trades, engage in puffery. Where has EDITOR & PUBLISHER been for the last few years? SAD, SAD, PATHETIC, PUFFERY, isn't it?

Relevance? I don't read any of those cartoons daily but I do read a lot of 'toons and they've all been online for years. Welcome to the "information super highway"! It's a nifty set of tubes!
