Smooth Criminals: The Best-Dressed GOP Convicts (SLIDESHOW)

Every good political villain needs a look, be it Kim Jong-Il's fondness for futuristic fashion, the trademark fatigues of Fidel Castro, or the deceptively casual clothes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. And as the perp walks and pleading press conferences of GOP convicts have shown us, style matters even to relatively small-scale political villains.

The results have been decidedly mixed, though. While Ted Stevens' fashion choices are timeless (much like his political career), Jack Abramoff's "I'm Guilty" fedora did him no favors. It's unfortunate, really, to see such style missteps from people who can obviously afford better (those bribes have to go somewhere, right?). Indeed, while some of these political disgraces seem to have put their ill-gotten gains to good use, others should probably have new charges brought against them for crimes of fashion.
