President OBAMA will help us redefine our standing in the world, and he will clean up this mess BUSH and his criminals have created. You see we will have someone with a brain leading our country now. That is something we have had in a long time.

I THINK IT SO HILARIOUS THAT ALL THESE RIGHT WING- NUTS ARE FREAKING OUT!

"IMPEACH HIM"

"WHAT HAS HE DONE? HE IS JUST ALL TALK"

"HE IS GOING TO TAKE ALL THE RIGHT WINGERS OFF THE RADIO"

"HE IS A SOCIALIST"

THEY ARE ALL SCARED

ITS FUNNY

It's amazing how "Bush has been giving tax cuts to the wealthy, and I will let those tax cuts expire" has been twisted into "I support socialism and communism."

Republicans lie.

You can rebrand all you want, simply putting a crown on a black male's head, with no change in the facts on the ground, serves to make the status-quo more sustainable. No justice, no peace.

It is my hope that Obama's election is a repudiation not just of the Bush administration but of the current management malaise we see in the business community --from the highest paid executives in the auto industry down to the middle manager who runs my office.
I'm writing about how , for years, it's been fine in corporate offices all across this country to have managers who are inept, lazy and secretive. Managers that pat you on the back and lie to your face. Managers that drive their departments like runaway buses down dead end streets while the rest of us scream " What are you doing!?!"
How has our manager been able to hold on to his job for years? The answer, I fear, is look at the most executive executive in the executive branch. There's your standard! I hope Obama brings integrity back to the White House and that, just maybe, it trickles down to my workplace.

Well, we certainly have the right man for the job! If anyone can CHANGE our horrific image around the world, President-elect Barack Obama can! YES WE STILL CAN!!!

Does President Bush have a germ phobia or something? I was just thinking about his aide running around with antibacterial hand sanitizer after shaking hands with Obama. I just think it's weird that it seemed foreordained that there would be no handshaking, and that everybody appears to be in on it, including President Bush. You would have thought he would have at least extended his hand and been rebuffed, i.e., Angela Merkel? - I thought they had enjoyed a fairly cordial relationship in the past. A germ phobia would not surprise me, one more manifestation of his cluelessness.

THE SOONER THE BETTER. An anemic economy doesn't build confidence nor prosperity. No matter how it's re-packaged or re-branded. The current outlook appears as an ever "thinning" American economy in nice looking but loose fitting clothes.

What I suspect will happen is that Obama and his supporters will find that America is resented around much of the effete Old Europe simply because it is America, successful, ultra-important to the world compared to the individual Old European countries, no matter who is the president. We'll see!

What Europeans have resented is America's policies and actions under the Bush Regime, not the American people or our country herself.

Learn to make the distinction, if it's not too much of a brain-strain.

Yes, its the USA's ULTRA SUCCESS and skill in all areas of management that has led to a global recession - we are totally in awe of you.....

Just another example of the arrogance and self importance that has alienated the US from other people - America has been resented for a long time precisely because of the superior attitude of this poster. It is not accomplishment that has alienated the USA. It is arrogance - and it is usually the least accomplished americans who are the most arrogant on its behalf.

That is what Barack suggests he can and will change.

Why don't you get your own head out of your own self congratulatory backside and join him. You might find that the USA has very little if anything to actually congratulate itself about. Apart from the fact that it does win the 'WORLD' series every year - exactly

It's not our fault Canada decided to quit playing with the big boys.

SailFree needs to quit being so arrogant. Reminds me of the French. I figured out why the French and the US don't get along, we are both too arrogant for our own good. I've been there several times and have seen it first hand. I was asked by one French woman, who evidently spoke several languages, why Americans did not try to speak French. I told her when we do we get scoffed at, so it's easiest not to try. In most European countries if you try to speak the language they help you. In France you get laughed at. It's been over 10 years though so maybe things have changed.

That being said SailFree needs to shove his stereotypes. Effete Old Europe. WTF does that mean. As opposed to Mach New Europe.

And Tossytosser (I won't ask what you're tossing) please don't judge all of America on 8 years of a moronic cowboy and his band of unconstitutional king makers.

I would love to believe they snubbed him but, look at Bush. He is staring at the ground in shame, unable to even look them in the eye.
I think it is is his undying arrogance at work.

Who cares what the rest of the world thinks? He needs to start working WITH the 48% Americans who didn't vote for him. That is of course unless he is just trying to sell his image to the rest of the world.

ToughEnough, probably a very good idea to start caring about what the rest of the world thinks. The U.S. was perceived as a world leader because of innovation, opportunity, war-muscle & economic might. America's fall from grace has been stunning in scope. With the inclusion of other nations in global economic restructuring & the looming U.S. recession, America is not going to be given a leadership role in the near future. You now NEED the rest of the world (so many other countries' economies doing better than yours). Good idea to avoid the hubris route.

Did that 48% work with the 52%? No, they took the money and ran. So, GFY.

I strongly suspect Obama doesn't share your unfortunate attitude. I firmly believe he fully intends to do everything he can to engage the 48% who did not support him in making things in this country better. That's something all of us have in common, no matter who we voted for: We want things to get better. So we already share *some* common ground, and that's a good place to start.

What does that have to do with what Obama does? Absolutely nothing.

Like I told my daughter while she was growing up and had some tough times, especially in junior high, where attitudes like the one displayed by your comment were common: Do you want to let other people decide who you are for you? Or do YOU want to decide who you are? If you do, you need to do your best to be THAT person, no matter what other people are saying or doing.

Why on earth would President Obama let Bush determine who he will be as president?

46%, get your figures straight.

75% of that 46% are too dumb to know any better, so why waste the effort

Ah 46% I admit, your right. I must not be smoking the same sh*t you are. But come on 75%? How did you come up with that one? On the other hand is this why Obama got elected?

Thats right. Forget people who don't agree with you. Only approximately half of America matters.
If you didn't vote for Obama, then you ought to go lay down in traffic because you are worthless........
