22 People Sue Chicago Police Over Alleged Election Night Abuse

Another lawsuit was filed in federal court accusing Chicago police of harassing people on Election Night, alleging that officers used pepper spray on West Side crowds celebrating Barack Obama's victory.

The lawsuit, filed by 22 individuals in federal court Friday, named nine officers in the alleged incident Nov. 4 in the Austin neighborhood. The plaintiffs said they were peacefully celebrating Obama's win on sidewalks, porches and in backyards.
