Saturday Night Live Does Arianna Impression (VIDEO)

"Saturday Night Live" did an Arianna Huffington impression this week. New cast member Michaela Watkins , one of two new female castmembers hired this month, played Arianna during "Weekend Update," commenting on the Bush administration and its offer to help President-Elect Barack Obama with the transition.

"Two nights ago I was having drinks with Madeline Albright and Chuck from the "Gossip Girl" and they agree with me. George Bush helping Barack Obama is like the Skeletor helping the He-Man. It's crazy. It's like the arsonist who burns down your house asking 'do you need help moving?'"

SNL doing a parody of you means "you matter" or "you've arrived"
Kids today have no memory of Ford other than seeing a Chevy Chase skit for SNL.
I, for one, have no problem being a member of the "Huffington Army"- as one of the liberal blogosphere.
She's helped charge how campaigns and elections are run.

I honestly think that SNL thinks they are making up for the Palin hits buy "trying" to smear some liberals like Olberman and Arianna.

The show satirizes current events and current popular people. I don't think they had any political agenda.

Remember Gilda Radnor as Candy Slice aka Patti Smith and Baba Wawa etc. Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford, Dan Ackroyd as Jimmy Carter etc. It goes way back.

The accent is amusing, her comic timing is pretty rusty though. She had trouble cueing the laughs for an SNL crowd in a couple of spots there, and that's fish in a barrel stuff.

Tracey Ullman is a billion times better! She gets the ins and outs of the persona of Arianna, which is why she can impersonate her living at home and going about her daily routine.

HOWEVER, I must say that the script for this is hilarious. The metaphors are right on!
