Daily Show Remixes Sarah Palin Hits (VIDEO)

Everyone else is polishing their Election 2008 collectibles, so why not The Daily Show? Today, the Comedy Central mainstay put together their essential mashup of remembrances of GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. The montage is long on gaffes and fittingly documents one of the few times The Daily Show seemed to side with the media, as they attempted to engage her as a mature adult, capable of answering questions. What's missing, in my opinion, is more of Jon Stewart's eloquent defense of those people Palin constantly derided as not being "real" Americans. Still, I guess it's worth remembering: Sarah Palin made us laugh. Now for the bad news, montage makers -- I don't think she is done with us by a long shot.

Thank god for The Daily Show and the humor the show delivers. How could "we the people" maintain our sense of sanity without laughter? We had our favorites in the past i.e. Nixon, Bush 1, Clinton, George "W", and now Sarah Palin. Heck even McCain got in on the bandwagon laughter in his last week of the campaign. With his legacy sinking like the Titanic, he demonstrated character enough to relieve the burden and pressure of the grueling presidential campaign. Sometimes we have to take our licks, have a good laugh and move on with our lives. Palin has done so, although the parade continues with the latest Turkey pardon spoof. I'd hope she'd go back to Alaska and be a distant memory but oh well, you can't win em all... you ain't seen the last of her yet and I say that with a confident... "you betcha!"
