In a year filled with change, it's nice to see that some things don't: Huffington Post commenters still love to eat. When Nora Ephron once again asked readers what they're cooking this year for Thanksgiving dinner that they didn't cook last year, the recipes came pouring in. We read every single one, and given that we don't have a test kitchen at the Huffington Post, we settled on the ten that made our stomachs growl the most.

And if these recipes don't do it for you, check out last year's Top 10 HuffPost Commenters' Thanksgiving Recipes. Or if you're looking for something with less cream, butter, cheese, bacon, butter--and did we mention cream?--check out our healthy Thanksgiving recipe roundup. Or keep reading the suggestions left on Nora's post--and while you're there, don't forget to share your own.

Happy Thanksgiving, and happy eating.

2. Goat Cheese in Pancetta

I never even thought of putting Kahlua into eggnog, but I'll have to try that asap. You should post this list on my buddy's site http://www.toptentopten.com/.

Don't forget to give thanks for cans, growth hormones, immigrant farm workers, and family.
Here's my Thanksgiving recipe:
Friends who don't live in the state they were born in
Ipod shuffle
Said friends best film of the year pick
An urn of margarita
Pot luck table of locally grown and organic whatever
A healthy dose of irony
Mix well, drink a lot and have no plans to drive home of sleep.

My best turkey recipe.

Throw the damned bird in the oven at 11:00AM. Set the oven at 350 for four hours. Grab a bottle of scotch, ice, soda and chips. Head for the bedroom to watch football. Tell the kids to take the turkey out when they hear the buzzer. Eat.

Special Blessings and thanks to Norman Rockwell. His understanding and love of True American are recorded for all time in the vivid depictions that he recorded with his brush. His portrayal of Thanksgiving dinner is but one of the hundreds of images of an America and a way of life that has mostly faded into the mists of time.

Reservations. And a turkey-free meal. And vegan pumpkin pie afterward at home.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and special blessings to the creatures who will be slaughtered for the day, and who are living in miserable conditions and slaughtered every day. It is so sad and absolutely unnecessary....

Thanks for the buzzkill. One of my biggest regrets is giving $25.00 to PETA and receiving much more than my money's worth in vegetarian propaganda for an entire year. Saints preserve us from self-righteous vegans.

For all of you who have been posting that it is OK to eat turkeys and other animals, please take a moment to look inside a major turkey farm by clicking on this link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBM0NULDYl8

This was filmed only a few days ago at one of the largest turkey producers in the US. Please click on the link and then search your hearts. Its not about what we "can" do or have the "right" to do, but it is about what is we know is correct in the deepest part of ourselves. It is a test of our character to do the right thing when we dont have to. Please, take a moment to watch. Happy Thanksgiving to all sentient beings.

We can only hope prop 2's passage will change that.

Try Yifta. layer in a glass bowl, whipped cream, bread crumbs or crushed saltines, then cranberry sauce ...repeat until bowl is full, finishing with whipped cream. Let stand refrigerated for several hours or overnight. Serve as a condiment with the turkey dinner. Sounds odd, but the breadcrumbs absorb from the cream and cranberry and end up like cake. It's delicious with turkey/gravy/stuffing, etc.
Really...this is great!!!

For perspective as OUR economy is in the dumps......in Zimbabwe they are lucky to get a few kernels of undigested seed from a pile of cow manure for their daily meal.

I'm nominating Thanksgiving to be America's new "green" holiday and I have some suggestions on my blog (http://ecoecoamerica.blogspot.com) on how that can happen. Check it out.

P.S. I do LOVE Sweet Potato Pie

Try stuffing your turkey with 1/2-cous-cous and 1/2 sliced-apples.

Put additional apple slices under-and-around the base of the turkey as
it rests in the baking pan.

The flavor the apples lend to the turkey/cous-cous is wonderful.

Works well with roasting chickens, too.

Oh, wow, that sounds good. That has now become what I'm making this year that I haven't made for Thanksgiving before.

It was going to be "reservations".

So anyone tried Mama Stamberg's Cranberry Relish-cranberries onions, sour cream sugar and horse radish - sounds horrid but they say it's great GOOGLE IT.

I've been making Mama Stamberg's Cranberry Relish ever since I heard about it on NPR way back in the seventies. It's great, especially on turkey sandwiches afterwards . . .
