Ann Coulter may be completely silenced, at least for a while.

If the New York Post's Page Six report is true, Coulter broke her jaw and her mouth is wired shut:

WE HEAR...THAT although we didn't think it would be possible to silence Ann Coulter, the leggy reaction- ary broke her jaw and the mouth that roared has been wired shut...

Check back here for confirmation and updates.

As a bleeding heart, knee-jerk liberal, I feel no joy in the pain and discomfort Ms. Coulter is suffering. In fact, the only joy I get out of this is that it happened after the election. I'm convinced that every appearance she makes convinces a few more decent Republicans they can no longer support a party spouting her political and moral inanities and obscenities.
So, from the left, here's to Ms. Coulter's rapid recuperation in plenty of time to help us win even more Democratic Congressional seats in 2010.

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

I doubt she'll "get the message" though.

Well, how do you like me so far?

Any hope Anne Coulter ever had for me listening to her with any respect to her position or arguments was lost by her frequent rude and obnoixous manner. When she calls widows 'harpies', accuses them of taking pleasure at the violent deaths of their husbands, accuses a mother who's son has died in combat of exploiting her dead son, and many other obnoixous slurs of character for sound bites - name calling, spiteful attacks and all the rest, I don't listen to see if she has any remote valid points, I just think, "My god, if I was her mama I'd be going around with a bag over my head so I wouldn't be recognized - I'm sure she was raised better than that."

So, the irony of her jaw injury? Yes, I laughed. I'm a wicked person.

Sweet sweet irony.

Personally, I like Ann. She may be a bit bold in the words she chooses and is satire alot of the times...but she does make valid points. Like the Massoud article she wrote. This was a terrorist who was captured and put in the confines at Guantanamo Bay. He had stepped on a land mine in Afghanistan and lost his leg. Rather than giving the man crutches to assist him in walking, they gave him a 50-75k prostetic leg. They released him and he went back to his old ways of planning roadside bombing of NATO and Allied troops, attacks on our troop compounds and then was blown up in Pakistan by a Predator drone strike. My point is, that was 50,000 to 75,000 dollars of US taxpayer dollars down the tube. Crutches would have been cheaper.

Bold in Words? You got that right

The controversy involved Coulter’s comments about the wives of victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. Her book claims that several New Jersey wives acted “as if the terrorist attacks happened only to them,” and she added that she had “never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.”

Some people are like that...in the sense that they may feel it only happened to them....their whole world was shattered...and maybe Ann could not see that....just as I may not see everything in what I say. I do not doubt that some wives were happy at the loss of some of their husbands. We do not know the whole story.....maybe the husbands cheated on them or they were emotionally or physically abused by their spouse on a daily basis. One can only assume. If they did show happiness.....maybe it was because they had newfound freedom from being abused......we shall never know!

What sort of misanthrope would wish ill health on another human being, especially one that has been in an accident serious enough to break a facial bone.

We wish her restored health.
08:55 AM on 11/28/2008
I agree, and wish her speedy recovery, however.........
You refer to those who wish her harm as misanthropic.
Perhaps the misanthroics are wishing harm on a misanthropic

If Ann Colter was as spiritual and in touch with God as she thinks she is, the symbolism of her jaw being wired shut wouldn't be lost on her. However, I'm afraid it is.

I have read one (and possibly two -- can't remember) of Coulter's books. They are similar to other right wing books -- shallow, partial truths, very selective Christian themes (always missing the real crux of Christianity), various right wing ideological talking points, plus a few interesting points of view.
She's just a partisan Republican Neocon mouthpiece after a lot of bucks.
12:45 AM on 11/28/2008
You could say the exact same thing about far-left books. Shallow, partial truths, very selective Christian themes targeted, various far-left ideological talking points, plus... a few interesting points of view.

Point being...

Extremes on both ends are equally idiotic.

Damn, I did not know that the Bible was a "far left" book, or that Jesus was a socialist commie Lib! Thanks for setting me straight!

Not that this matters, but no real news organization has confirmed this.

Why don't you ask her personally. I'm sure she is aware that it is being reported and if it weren't true I would think she would say something, if for no other reason than to tell her critics to stick it.
