The Peru news agency Andina notes that President Bush was drinking a Peruvian cocktail during the recent APEC summit:

Peru has successfully promoted its national drink "Pisco Sour" during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Summit, Peru's Environment Minister Antonio Brack said Sunday.

He noted that the flagship drink of Peru was well acepted by international guests, including Japan's Prime Minister, Taro Aso.

"Pisco Sour has been the "star" of the APEC Summit, the drink was served in several meetings at the Government Palace and the APEC Summit venue," he told CPN Radio.

...

U.S. President George W. Bush, who quit drinking at 40, was apparently drinking a Peruvian cocktail during a meeting on Saturday.

Pisco Sour is a cocktail containing Pisco (a Peruvian brandy), lemon juice, egg whites, simple syrup, and regional bitters.

Bush is pictured drinking the cocktail here:

Of course, the president often drinks non-alcoholic beer; he could easily be drinking a non-alcoholic Pisco Sour in this shot.

Peruvian Pisco is around 70% alcohol.... If he wasn't drinking these days in the White House, why is he having so much problems trying to speak while making sense at the same time?
I think he is was a drunk, then he found God, and then he found the bottle again.....

The only times I've ever found god have been at the bottom of a bottle.
I believe the two are synonymous with clouded judgment.

Who cares about this guy, let him drink and smell himself into self-destruction; it would be a just ending for all the pain and harm he's caused.

I don't believe he has a sponsor. I don't think he went through any kind of treatment. I think he's a white-knuckle alcoholic.

Good news George. There is an AA meeting over in McGregor, just ten miles from the ranch. Meetings on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We got a chair here with your name on it.

He should take you up on that invite. It will likely be his only post-Presidency invite ANYWHERE.

It will not affect him. Alcohol only affects people with brains. There is no evidence of any brain existence in shrub's head.

He has 2 degrees: Harvard and Yale. Guess he has SOME brains, eh?

Amazing, O has a Harvard degree, and he is held up as intelligent. Bush has a Harvard degree, and he is seen as ignorant. What gives? I know the answer, I just want to see if any of the left-wing Liberals have the cajones to admit what the truth is....

AdamAnt12, I will explain to you the siuation here. Yes, Bush went to Ivy leagues schools and like McCain his family had a lot of pull to keep him there when he F*ed up. Like McCain, he F*ed up a lot. Obama on the other hand stayed in prestigious schools through hard work not family ties therefore Obama benefited from the education and wasn't just a rich spoiled brat whose father (he didn't know his father) or grandfather could pay off. Obama is an intellectual, George Bush is a frat boy, bone head alcoholic, fake cowboy. You believed the lies- now deal with it.

Bush holds the Bachelor of Arts from Yale and the Master of Business Administration from Harvard. He attempted to enter the University of Texas Law School but was not accepted. He got the BA from Yale as a legacy student. Harvard is an Ivy League school. “Ivies” accept the sons of Old Money families readily, and the Bushes are very much old money. That's the only way that Bush would have gained acceptance to Harvard; it certainly wasn't on merit.

Barack Obama attended Occidental College, but received his undergraduate degree in political science from Columbia University. Obama also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Harvard Law School, where he also served as President of the Harvard Law Review. Harvard Law School is ranked the best Law School in America.
Columbia University - B.A. political science with a specialization in international relations. Harvard - Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

Here's how it goes:

If, near the end of your Presidency, the economy is thriving with millions of new jobs, poverty has declined dramatically and your approval ratings are high and climbing, then you are entitled to squeeze into a little hallway and be blown by some dumb intern who thinks it's cool to flash her underwear at you.

If, however, near the end of your Presidency, the economy is ground into a fine powder with jobs popping like balloons an hour after the Republican convention, poverty is creeping into what was once the middle class and your approval ratings are so low for so long that they're historic, you get served a Pisco Sour on a tray so that we can all watch you guzzle it down like the shaking, desperate, lying sack of crap that you are.

He's never been recovering. Perhaps abstinent, but there lies the difference. Like George Costanza said, "Your an alcoholic - you have to apologize!" We're waiting for the apology. Like George, we "kinda have to have it".

Who cares? you say!

You have not been paying attention......been under a rock?

A practicing alcoholic's life IS a train wreck..

JUST LIKE OUR COUNTRY IS NOW.........

AND WHO DO YOU THINK DROVE US HERE!

Yea right, who cares.

Alcoholics get no slack. He used his supposed sobriety and "christianity" (note the christianity) as a ploy to gain votes in 2000.

Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. There are no "just one drinkipoo" permitted in their lives.

He acts like an alcoholic who hasn't received help--still angry and shut down with no humility, if he's drinking anything alcoholic, I think it means he's drinking many others so we have a drunk (UNDERSTANDABLY) President, fine, but one who REFUSES to admit he ever had a problem or wants to correct it! And that can't be good. Ooh please time rush rush rush to January 20!!

If you think a pisco sour is a "foo-foo" drink, you're a tad bit mistaken. And for a supposedly dry alcoholic, it's irrelevant whether it's a foo-foo drink or a shot of pure grain.
