We're well aware that "if it bleeds, it leads," but Fox News might be taking that mindset a bit too far with their new, extremely dark ad.

The cable channel promotes itself as the only organization that "gets you the facts, fair and balanced." But apparently Fox is searching for these facts in a dangerous, world-wide rave. The promo has enough flashing images, quick cuts, and intense techno music to warrant a seizure disclaimer.

It's also worth noting, as News Hounds does, that the only nationally-known faces among the scenes of terror, anger and despair are Joe Biden, Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama.

Watch the ad below, and let us know in the comments how you plan to survive this terrible future.

Very effective clip.
Are the images shown current? yes
Are they genuine? yes.
Maybe not "politically correct",

but reality.

Nice job FOX.

so theres a thing in the TV and movie business called "EDITING" (actually its in print as well).. and putting techno music to pictures shopped to look sinister isn't exactly telling it like it is.

I'm not really going to comment on the content of the ad, but just to inform everyone that that's not techno.

Sure it is. Your definition of techno is outdated. Your attempt to show up the noble huffington blogger and techno-file Nicholas Graham has instead lead to you revealing your own musical obsolescence.

I don't really trust my own objectivity, but from the right I see a lot of: darkness, fear, anger, vitriol and venom. A lot of taking things out of context, unreasonable generalizations, and more interest in ideology than what's true. I see "I'm right, you're stupid," and wanting to find things to be afraid of.
But, what does the right see on the left?

omg...how funny., sounds like the liberals under bush. Of course, nobody on this board will see the comparisons. Bushitler anybody. Funny, but I haven't seen the gestapo, or even any secret police. However, Mr. Obama apparently wants some sort of civilian "force" with as much authority as the military. ?????hmmmm...taking things out of context, how about any time a conservative makes social commentary we are bigots, liberals are just "willing to talk about things'. or interested in ideology instead of whats true. What like partial birth abortion being murder, not a choice...or the fact that for the last two years, while ;you might not have liked the fact that we were cleaning up Iraq, it was happening...but liberals stubbornly and steadfastly refused to accept reality? That is what the right sees from the left. You want us to act better than you all did for eight years. So far, we have. We haven't sued anybody.

This is so pathetic! Unfortunately there are millions of Americans that believe this crap. And now that they're adding Glenn Beck to the mix, it is a little unnerving. He was on the 700 club last week promoting this same type of trash, "the end of America as we know it, etc". Let's not underestimate these people. This is what they do and whether we like to believe it or not, to their followers, their word is the gospel.

Fear sells--to a very fearful crowd!!!! No real surprise that FOX is making a rather direct and overt appeal to it--it is what the whole contemporary conservative movement is all about----a total appeal to fear.

Subliminal, worldviewer, I had to study subliminal messages in advertising...part of a journalism degree. This is an example of the "art" of subliminal messaging (sorry I choke using a beautiful term "art" with this rubbish). Quick image flashes...dark doom beginning, including Joe, Rahm and Barack...bright light ending, including the Fox crew. Subtle.
Looks benign but there is a purpose.
Wikipedia: A subliminal message is a signal or message embedded in another medium, designed to pass below the normal limits of the human mind's perception. These messages are unrecognizable by the conscious mind, but in certain situations can affect the subconscious mind and importantly, the unconscious mind, and can negatively or positively influence subsequent later thoughts, behaviors, actions, attitudes, belief systems and value systems.
Old drive-ins and movie houses used this to get people to the snackbar. In this case....

Does FOX seriously wonder why they get ignored by Obama at his news conferences.

Fox was right... Look at Mumbia... DANGEROUS WORLD.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 01:05 AM on 11/29/2008

Well, considering that after all the coverage of what's been going on there, you still can't get the name right and refer to Mumbai as Mumbia, it's not surprising that you're a fan of Fox News.

Horrors, three individuals--Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Rahm Emanuel--are gonna getcha Fox News viewers, not because they're evil...on the contrary...they're asking you to call on your Good Angels....oh dear, scary stuff. I don't know, maybe hope and change we need are indeed scary ideas to Fox News viewers. .

Sadly, Fox will be around as long as turkeys like Rush, OReilly, and Hannity are around...they fill some void in some lives. This ad is dispicibly inappropriate and low-brow, but typically Murdoch-esque. Of course they should remove Obama, Biden and Emanuel, but they won't .

I'm going with the message of hope, thank you very much, and I'm feeling pretty darned good about my choice: Barack, Joe and Rahm? We're with you and your positive direction for our country. Rock on gentlemen!

I thought that was gonna be a lot worse! Compared to their coverage of the Presidential Race, that ad was a happy fairytale! And doesn't the standard of truth-telling demand that Fox News remove any mention of fair and balanced reporting in their advertising? They may be guilty of a lot, but being fair and balanced? That's laughable!
