On Tuesday, John McCain held his first press conference since the election. Asked if he would ever run for president again, the Arizona Senator seemed to find the idea so funny that he could barely get a word out. Finally, he managed to say, "I do not envision a scenario that would entail that." He does, however, intend to run for Senate again. Watch:

McCain also praised his running mate Sarah Palin, calling her "a breath of fresh air that swept the country."

"We worked hard and inspired a lot of people," he said. "We look back with pride on the campaign we ran."

"I think Governor Palin's future is very bright," McCain added. "I think she did a great job of energizing our base. I'm very proud of her."

He denounced everything throughout his campaign but not one word about the Cindy's lover story. Not one dispute.

Gov. Palin also did an excellant job of energizing the Democratic base. Thank you!

The man is laughing b/c he happily did not get the job. I doubt he would want it these days.

I have tremendous respect and admiration for this man but do not believe that he was the best selection for President this time around. Unfortunately I didn't recognize him in his quest for the Presidency this year as I did 8 years ago. I preferred the McCain of the past...

I think I would have had the amount of respect for him as you have EastTraveler, but he lost me, when he decided to throw-away his SERLF-ESPECT during the General-election, as well as his choice to lead the nation if a crisis was to befall us.
The man continues to place his pride, of a, great-veep pick, before country, being the US of A. and all it's people.
This woman is INSANE, as well as the fools that will follow her.
Maybe great for the democratic-party, but just stupid, for McCain to worry about his pride, and continue to endorse the worst known possible-leader of America.

This man, because of his own EGO, has lost all respect and admiration from me, because the USA should come first.

I sort of feel bad for McCain. Poor old man, his lifelong dream was to be President of this country.

He fought his entire life for the USA.

I guess Obama out shined him....

Admittedly, it is a pretty hysterical notion - glad he got the joke (this time).

I could not even bring myself to watch this clip of you Senator McCain.

You once fooled me into believing you were truly an honorable man. And I spoke highly of you for 20 years. But the then I realized that honor does not come and go. Character does not come and go. And because you were a prisoner of war? Well, that does not give you the right to tear down a person who loves his country as much as you claim to love this country.

You ran a despicable campaign against your opponent. I sincerely hope that people do not forgive you your endless lack of judgment and hatred.

Now I hear that there were ads that your campaign is taking the credit for NOT running? Do I Have Stupid Stamped On My Forehead Senator McCain? You are not an honorable human being and I hope you are reminded every day of your life of that fact. You sold your soul!

McCain is still proud of providing a little eye candy & "old-white-haired-men-with-sleeping-parts" stimulator to the party. Everyone said McCain is a party boy ... He just cannot grasp the value of Political Excellence over Entertainment. Thank G.o.d. the right man won.

Now you know how we all felt at the Palin appointment, John--hysterical laughter.

The only thing he'll be in the running for in future is a pine box.
