Was this piece suppose to make me feel less screwed? It didn't! My wife and I retired on Sept 12, 2001 and ever since everything we planned for and saved for has gone up in smoke. The last few months have only been the icing on the cake. Health care, housing, transporation, food and just about everything else I can think of has gone through the roof. The rich got richer and the poor got poorer. We of the middle class, if there really is such a thing, began paying for everyone and there is no end in sight. Yeah, this ownership society is a really great thing...If you own it!

Life must really stink for those guys.
There is a difference.
Money isn't everything, but the lack of it is.
There are those who are looking at being homeless and woring about what to eat since they are not broke enough to qualify for stamps and welfare....yet.
At the same time the radio is full of lap dogs for the wealthy railing against unions as if "Trickle down theory" never existed.

It looks like Gates' wealth was exported in the same crooked fashion in which he bribed congress to export most of Americas' IT jobs.

Please excuse me while I MapQuest the nearest Hallmark store.

Let's see. Would I rather lose $3 billion of $60 billion, having $57 billion left?

Or $80,000 out of $100,000, having $20,000 left?

The biggest difference is that these guys have billion-dollar BUSINESSES. They don't NEED the money they've lost, (and also could easily make it back).

For Americans who've ..... lost their JOBS.....seen their house value fall below the mortgage value that they still have to pay on......have seen their retirement cut to 40% (or less).....and can't afford basic monthly expenses......

Well, just shows. Fitzgerald was wrong. Billionaires lives aren't ANYTHING llike the rest of us......

This would be relative only if you compare it to no Thanksgiving dinner, with no job, foreclosure on the horizon, nine cents in your pocket, and food stamps won't come till the first of December...

So, until they can cry those people a river, I can't even begin to feel sorry for their lost billion...

Shame on you!!!! Rather than a minimum wage, we should have a maximum wage. Anyone making over x would have to give the rest up in taxes.

I find this whole conversation obscene!! Only worth a few billion, damn! What will they do. Will they have to move into a two bedroom apartment and start shopping at Walmart.

Yeah they F****** feel the pain; just like the millions of workers that have lost jobs and are going through foreclosure. Just like the millions of people that are starving. Just like the people in extreme poverty all over the globe, that have no means to move out of the unhealthy and violence stricken communities they live in.

Maybe these billionaires could all take a salary of just a $1 a year to show they are trying to be responsible. Oh yeah some do, yet they maintain to receive their billions in income. Nice propaganda eh?

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!

WAKE UP WORLD!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry you got it wrong. Someone who makes 10 bucks an hour and has just lost his job has lost more than these super rich who MAY have lost a billion. The super rich have other diversified assets he can fall back on. the ten dollar guy lost EVERYTHING with that one job.
