Britney Spears Performs Live Again (VIDEO)

Thursday Britney Spears performed live at the Bambi Awards in Offenburg, Germany. Spears has not performed live since her breakdown.

Spears' album Circus is coming out next week and she performed the first single from the album, "Womanizer."

She plans to play live in the US next.

I had been in the music recording industry for decades, somewhat retired now. I was actually interested in hearing her new album to see what was there.
When she first come on the scene I went to see one of her shows, I took a real expert with me, my 11 year old neighbor. We both enjoyed her show as being truly entertaining, her fresh good looks and enthusiastic personality made a lot of fans that night. Every little girl in the concert wanted to be Britney.
I followed along with mild interest as her career gathered steam. She was not an artist, she was an entertainer who made people feel good and smile. Not much of that at that time so it was pleasant to see and I wished her continued good luck.
Fast forward through the mess her life has become and I feel sorry for her, she was never prepared emotionally or intellectually to handle fame and adulation. It was nice to hear that she was getting therapy and was attempting to put her career back together.
After seeing this video and hearing the featured song, I felt really sad, more than a little embarrassed for her, and bewildered how or why any producer could contribute to this. Good songs are hard to write and hard to find but a producer working with a name has more opportunities to gather good material. But this was pitiful, a poor song, poor arrangement, poor choreography, poor showmanship.....

The old Britney would have torn this song up... she looked scared, timid and not enough dancing.

Not a big fan of Britney but she used to put on a good show, lip-synching and all. Now, it's just blah.

No kidding. It seems Madonna had this look first, and is currently touring with costume chillingly similar. Brittany needs a stylist to re-create her own look, which was how she began in music.

Whatever Spears had, it's gone. That's the sad truth. Rather than propping her up and having her perform, she needs guidance to get out of the jungle. There are many other things she can do. Get an education. Choose a cause. Choose a career. Find a new passion. Find herself. Give this girl a chance to grow up.

Dim lighting, flashing background, lots of real dancers -- looks like the show's designers are trying to cover up their "star" with lots of extraneous busyness.

And with good reason - no charisma, no stage presence, no performance. Not much of a song either.

In respects to the human factor, I'm glad Britney is recovering and getting on with her life and career. But whoever is managing her career and music needs to be shown the door. Stageshow is crap. Music is crap. Lyrics are crap. Britney needs a career makeover and life wakeup call.

The song Simone sings is interesting in that it sounds as if it was written specifically for Britney, hehe. Granted, it's a song about drug abuse and it's evils, basically an anti-drugs song. But sounds eerily similar to what alot of the current crop of US teen queen stars like Britney, Lindsay, et al, have been going through.

Good song choice, but you should have expanded on things. I don't know most people see Britney and her music, but from my point of view it's like she's still a little girl. A 16 year old stuck in the body of what's now a woman having bore 2 children. And her music has not changed either. It's still that yukky bubblegum pop that I so deplore.

I think you should have said that she needs to GROW UP along with her wakeup call. She's not some little girl with mommy and daddy to always rescue. She's got to learn that life has consequences, very real ones. And that life sucks alot. You don't always get your way and not everyone likes you. So it's time for Britney to find herself and grow up, or even grown into who she is or wants to be. She doesn't have to subscribe to anyone's percieved lifestyle but her own. Not even mine.

Truth be told, if I was her manager, I think her voice is actually better suited more to rock than bubblegum pop music or whatever it's called, lol. Probably bubblegum rap by the sounds of it.

And I was going to chastise you for forgetting to mention the other teen queen that did turn out good, Melissa "Clarissa" Joan Hart. But then, she was a Nickelodeon girl, not a Disney tramp girl.

I was never a fan of Britney Spears and will never be! HOWEVER, I do feel sorry for her. Yes, life is unfair: many talented individuals have never made it and many more will never make it. Meanwhile, talentless ones seem to have an easy ride. It makes me angry too BUT as much as I dislike that reality, I do believe that Britney does not deserve all the hate thrown at her.
