Sorry, but I have to say that the panini maker I bought a few years ago was kind of a waste. Takes up space and I forget to use it b/c it is hidden away in the cabinets. I'd suggest getting a ridged skillet and one of those heavy iron things to weight the sandwich down instead. The skillet can be used a lot more than the panini maker. The skillet is also easier to wash.
