Sarah Palin Still Wearing Campaign Clothes

Huffington Post   First Posted: 1/1/09 Updated: 5/25/11

After a 12-day hiatus, Sarah Palin stepped back into the spotlight on Monday to campaign for Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss. Spectators experienced déjà vu as the Alaska governor sported the same jacket she had worn on the campaign trail this fall. UPDATE: the jacket was first photographed on Palin on August 31st, two days after joining the McCain ticket, when she started the day at a rally in O'Fallon, Missouri before flying to Minneapolis for the Republican National Convention. So was Palin valiantly recycling old clothes or defiantly wearing items from her $150,000 wardrobe? You be the judge.

who cares.

I find this one nit-picking, and the headline misleading, since we don't know if this jacket is from her wardrobe or from the RNC. Please don't put me in a position of seeming to defend Sarah Palin.
If it's from her wardrobe, so what? I certainly wear the same clothes many times throughout the season, and so, I'll bet do we all.
Criticizing her for wearing the same suit is beyond petty. Unless, of course, it's from the RNC.

Sarah Palin is, sadly, both an insult to and an icon of the Republican party. She was her ticket's hot commodity, and they glossed her until she shined...on the surface. The outrageous costs of "keeping up appearances" continues to be a slap in the face to the people who donated their hard-earned money because they support this party's platform.

That said, she looked a lot classier when she had the stylist!

Remember the GOP was supposed to give them away to the Thrift Store. They must have gave them to the "Cheap Boutique" con-signment store Palin shops at in Wasilia.

Well! that shouldn't surprise anyone. Did you think Miss Glamour lady really got rid of all those clothes that she didnt spend her own money on. Remember, Sara Palin ran for a Beauty Contest. mmmmmmmm! Now what do that tell you about her. She wants to be in the spotlight and look like a Movie star. But Who cares as long as it wasn't my hard earned money that paid for those clothes she is now wearing I dont really care. I JUST WANT HER TO FADE AWAY !!!
02:13 PM on 12/05/2008
Really? Do we still care about this? This isn't taxpayer money, It's the GOP's money. I'm over it. Leave her alone. There are so many more important things to talk about, and she is not one of them.

Oh, she never going back to ALASKA!!!
Best to keep debunking all of her lies here and now...
I am with Andrew Sullvan on this, IT IS IMPORTANT. Not the stuff she is lying about but the fact that everything is a LIE.

I wonder if any of Paiin´s kids will finish high school. So much for parenting.

When is her daughter going to get married too...right?
- Never. That little jerk would be able to cash in on all her new found wealth.

Honestly no one really gives a damn. There's nothing to stop her from buying those clothes at Dillards or Neiman-Marcus online. Besides I'd rather her keep those clothes even if they were purchased by tax payer dollars. She looks beautiful in them and it's a lot better than taking tax payer dollars to do what you people love to do; giving them to pedophiles and to drugheads living in backs of boarding houses.

If the tables were turned and it was Michelle Obama in this exact same scenerio we wouldn't hear a thing out of you.
01:44 PM on 12/05/2008
That's right...let's give the money to some stuck up political diva (who doesn't need it) rather than someone trying to get into drug rehab. Yes, that makes so much sense.
04:01 PM on 12/05/2008
So, you'd rather use tax payer dollars to purchase expensive clothing for someone who is already very well off?

Oh yes, that's what YOU PEOPLE love to do. Give to the rich...

As for giving tax payer dollars to pedophiles.... Who does that?

And if the tables were turned, Michelle Obama still wouldn't be on the other side because she was never running for any office... That comparison was just plain silly. Something else you people love to do it seems...

What is she thinking? I wear a shirt once and throw it out. I've never seen so man scared of a strong woman.
10:41 AM on 12/05/2008
She's wearing the gifts from the american taxpayers. The gifts that they just keep on giving.
09:18 AM on 12/05/2008
This story is probably a non-starter. She may have reimbursed the campaign for the cost of the jacket. If not she needs to give it back. Case closed.
09:10 AM on 12/05/2008
She's a hot hockey mom so in my book she can wear, or not wear, whatever she wants to.
11:00 PM on 12/04/2008
Didn't the Oberst-Reich tell us that these togs would be recycled for charity?

Did anyone really believe them?
06:50 PM on 12/04/2008
She's a class act.
04:34 PM on 12/04/2008
Well, at least now we know why she campaigned for Chambliss. It gave her cover for keeping some of the clothes. After all, if she is still working on behalf of the Republicans, she should be able to use Party purchased clothing, right? No?
Well remember when she said she would donate all of the clothes if she could find them (or something like that)? Well maybe this jacket was at the dry cleaners the day the Republican party lawyers came to collect clothes, so, technically she couldn't fine them, right? No?

O.K. so she got caught again.
