O'Hare Expansion Dispute Continues

The battle over the O'Hare airport expansion continued today with attorneys for Bensenville telling appellate court justices that Chicago's continued land grab is unconstitutional if the planned project isn't going to continue.

Three justices of the 2nd District Appellate Court heard over an hour of arguments in an Elgin courthouse.

Bensenville officials had appealed an August ruling of DuPage Judge Kenneth Popejoy, who said that Bensenville officials had failed to prove that the demolition of the east side of the village destined for a major runway addition was unsafe for area residents and that federal and state environmental laws were the proper venue for safeguarding some concerns.
