Obama Transition: Chicago Heavyweights Shell Out
President-elect Barack Obama's transition office has released a list of donors. Some big name Illinois residents are shelling out a lot of cash for the effort.
More than a hundred Illinois residents donated to the Obama transition fund. Almost 20 gave the maximum allowed; that's a $5,000 gift. This list includes a number of prominent lawyers and investment bankers. Two members of Chicago's Crown family donated the maximum, as did William Daley, the mayor's brother. He's a former commerce secretary under Bill Clinton and an adviser to Obama.
