Police: Man Shot His Wife While They Were Having Sex

A Tri-State woman is in critical condition Wednesday after police say her husband shot her while they were having sex.

Timothy Havens, 38, told Springfield police he was reaching for something on the nightstand when the pistol went off, hitting his estranged wife Carolyn in the upper chest.

This despicable act of shooting and ex-wife, while supposedly having sex, is (in part) symptomatic of the climate of fear, anxiety, anger and indecision perpetrated by talk radio and other parts of the media. Current economic machinations are big in this too. The tension created causes many people to either lose hope in life altogether or to have a "gotta do something drastic" sense come up, which can be a low level pre-suicidal tendency. "Suicide by cop" is one result of this. Most people cope with the tension. Many people turn to addictive behavior, irresponsible acts or violence. This man appears to be a sociopath who tried the easy way out and failed...or succeeded, depending on if he wants a prolonged punishment for his act. Really sad and really predictable.
