Oprah Winfrey is headed to Washington for inauguration, she tells Access Hollywood:

The media mogul (and staunch Barack Obama supporter) will be hosting "The Oprah Winfrey Show" from Washington, D.C. during the week of the presidential inauguration, she revealed to Access Hollywood exclusively at an Essence Magazine event in New York on Tuesday night.

"I'm going to break that right here; that's where I'm going to be," Oprah told Access. "See you there . . . that's the place to be."

She also confirmed to Access that she has rented out the Opera House at the Kennedy Center to film the show.

Other celebrities expected to attend inauguration include Bruce Springsteen, Will.i.am, Anne Hathaway, Spike Lee, Tim Robbins, Maggie Gyllenhaal and many other prominent Obama supporters.

I was notified yesterday that my request for a ticket for the inauguration has been granted. I will pick my ticket up on the January 17th.

I appreciate all the support she gave him in the primary. She started campaigning for him when he was 30 points behind in the polls and a few weeks later he won Iowa. Not that it surprises me. I work in a book store so I know the power of her endorsement.

You can be Mother Teresa and someone will find a reason to be jealous of you or hate on you. The envy is about their own shortcomings.

What's so snobbish about educating, feeding uplifting millions of people around the world? That's how she's used her life. How have you used yours? Being jealous? Get over it!

You go Oprah. I hope I get there too. Man! if finances were right I would be. And Michelle-help her out!
I hate those gowns-get her some real help. She is not a flag. The pink one too motherly. She is to be like WoW!

They both deserve the best. And that Cabinet is awesome!! So, go Oprah go!!! At 56 and health issues I would get glamed up myself and stand outside if that is what would get the party started but I am joking-too cold.

Do it Oprah, everyone else will be there too, so why can't she have her show there. I will be at the inauguration but, I surely wont be able to have it on a big projection in the Opera House. Kudos to Oprah, this is history.

The President Elect had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to keep bars open in DC during the inauguration. It was the DC City Council's decision. I know because I live here.

I am shocked that President-Elect Obama is allowing all the bars in Washington, DC to be opened during inauguration. This means trouble.

I continue to be disappointed in Oprah. She is doing all of this for the media. Instead, all that money it is costing her, i.e., renting The Opera House at Kennedy Center, could be going to the homeless, the people from Katrina, etc. She is a self-serving individual and I don't think much of her.

I think that is a most unfair statement, as Oprah is one of the better-known American philanthropists.

Did you feed at least one homeless person for thanksgiving? Oprah funds many shelters.

Your full of it. Oprah is definitely not self-serving. Oprah has given a great deal to the poor and continues to give of herself. Apparently you have another issue with Oprah and it has nothing to do with the poor. Matter of fact, what have you done lately for the poor monetary wise or of yourself. If your going to talk the talk, then pray tell us how you walk the walk.

Oprah was raised in poverty & abuse & yet has given over $300 million of her OWN hard earned money to charity, more than any African American in history, more than any performer in history, according to Business Week.

If you look into Oprah's record, you will find that she has given and supported more people and causes and issues, wiped out people's debts, built a school, houses, Angel Networks which are doing marvellous things, and is building more, educated, brought awareness, and continues to do so.

No matter what one thinks of Oprah personally, if it is not obvious that she has helped more people than most of us will ever meet, then one doesn't want to see it.

I would like to have explained, why are bars going to be open 24 hours? What is the main purpose of that?

I can see why you might want extra hours on Inauguration night itself; I don't have a problem with that. The parties are going to run all night that night.

But five days of 24-a-day bars? I agree, I think that's a mistake.

I plan to be in DC over the Inauguration anyway, even if I don't get any closer the ceremony than the Mall.

Oprah, skip the parties and put your money into something
really worthwhile. You helped out New Orleans, and Africa
how about Texas? There is still debris 30 miles long and
FEMA is dragging their feet on disaster money. People can't
rebuild until the debris is gone, and they can't do that without
money. Come on Oprah it will be one of those great publicity
opportunities for you and your show!

The debris is there for Bush's purpose, it is so that NOLA will not be rebuilt! Understanding the toxic mind of a psycho is getting far too easy!

Bush will be back home to help you out. Your beloved Governor and the Prez for 8 years was right there in DC. Why are you all having problems down there?

Furthermore Oprah is not GOD or our caretaker. She does more for this country and it's people than any popular celebrity in the history of TV. What do you think she owes Texas?

When Oprah announced her support of Obama, it gave me another reason NOT to vote for him. Of course, that was a dumb reason not to vote for Obama.

It took me a couple months to get over Oprah's endorsement before I started donating to him.

I've watched Oprah since she first went national & had been a big fan of hers until she started down that "my favorite things" road.

I'm not fond of celebrity endorsements period--not just Oprah's. Unless you really like a celebrity (and I don't really like any celebrities), it's a turn off.

Even Oprah is entitled to an opinion! You've voiced yours, but at least you had the insight not to deny a vote for betterment in America by a personal bias! Good for you! Many people don't have the time to research (such as I have, and perhaps you have) and appreciate a well-read, culturally exposed voice such as Oprah's, which is quite different than a hawker for Viagra! Media is gorged with celebrity endorsements, which are meaningless. Oprah, on the other hand, gives potency - the whys - to her recommendations. Some I agree with others, not. Yet, I admire her track record.

Oprah rules!

Well most people really like celebrities. That's why they're celebrities (i.e. celebrated). But I agree that most celebrity endorsements don't matter, but then most celebrities aren't influential enough to dictate the best-seller list and launch Dr. Phil. A third of all Americans reported that most people they know would be more inclined to vote for him because of Oprah's endorsement. Only 3% reported that most people they know would be turned off:

Oh . I didn't know she gave up being a citizen of the USA when she became a celebrity. If you have REALLY watched Oprah since she has went national you would have seen the Herculean effort she has always given to stay keep her show politically unbiased. Through Presidents from Reagan to Bush. She has kept her feelings to herself.

But she is an American citizen and has every right just like you and I to support a candidate in her country. When she had to sit back for over 20 years and now watch these atrocities of the Bush admin , now was the time to speak out. I admire her even more than ever now for risking her reputation and fame in doing so. Millions of lives have been positively effected by it.

C'mon. During the runup to the war she publicly put down a female member of her audience because thta person had the temerity (and the courage) to ask Oprah's pro-war guest if maybe they were wrong about WMD.
