GOP Paid $55,000 For Palin's Fashion Stylist

Another day, another story about Palin's clothing and styling expenditures. On Wednesday it was the news of more spending on "accessories," as revealed in a new report filed with the Federal Elections Commission. Then on Thursday it was the story of another $55,000 in payments by the McCain campaign to Palin's hair and makeup stylists during the election's final weeks. And today it's the revelation of yet more spending on stylists, this time for Palin's "fashion stylist." The New York Times reports:

A woman who appears from campaign finance records to have been Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's fashion stylist was paid $54,900 by the Republican National Committee, according to a new report filed with the Federal Election Commission.

A charge for that amount to "Lisa Kline & Co." for "Consulting-Campaign" appears on Oct. 17 in the R.N.C.'s latest campaign finance report. Ms. Kline is a New York stylist whose name had previously appeared alongside some of the much ballyhooed $150,000 in charges for clothing and other "campaign accessories" from luxury stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

I wish Palin would just go away! She continues to gun down wolves from helicopters which shows that she is cruel and lacks compassion. She is engaging in warfare on the wolves, what's next, dropping bombs on them? I hope she is reincarnated as a helpless animal and meets someone like her in her next life.

Heck, for that kind of money they could almost make me look good.

Within the rhetoric of the Palin wardrobe, we are missing the real issues regarding the appeal of Palin. I acknowledge that most men are shocked by the costs of women's clothing and the burden that places on middle class income families since fashion is such a demanding force for women. However, the real issue with Palin is her cynical but highly effective distinction between liberal American and the "real", "hardworking", and "Christian" America. The more we focus on these side-show issues, we'll fail to address and potentially play into this rhetorical tool that could have political traction as soon as 2010 but more likely in 2012.

No, the real issue is not how much she spent, but how willing she is to take stuff she hasn't earned. She seems to do it pretty consistently.

Just wondering about a few things...

So when is the big wedding for the two high school dropouts?

Has Palin yet got back to Couric?

Has she and the "first dude" discussed the Alaskan Independence Party? Hmm, wonder why...but sooner or later, she will need to...wonder how they will spin it? Will they try spin it the way McCain did about his afairs saying that was "long ago" and irrelevant?

When is Palin actually going to govern in Alaska?

I hope the IRS looks at all the taxable benefits that she has received but no doubt not included as income in her tax filings. Tax evasion comes to mind...and she won't be able to blame it on her "staff" or the "media"...

Man, the US has over 300 million people and some brilliant people, and this low life Wasilla hillbilly that bounced around 5 community colleges, almost got to be a heartbeat away from the most powerful position in the world...yikes.

PS when she eventually does Hustler or Playboy, how much do you think she'll get?

The amount is not excessive. But this old hag is old news. Is Huff Post hard up for news? Lets let this one go back to Alaska and play with the wolves, bears, walruses or whatever.

How much is normally spent on a stylist for a presidential/vice-presidential candidate? It's a lot of money, but I bet all politicians at that level have huge expenditures we could make fun of.

Second, I wish the press would stop running stories about her. The sooner she disappears, the better.

I don't understand how someone that needs another person to decide what clothes to wear is capable of being in a position of leadership and decision making.

The irony is Sarah herself always mentioned "i'm not one of the old boys", "I'm a Washington outside" and she displayed doing every single thing anyone wanted her to do, even speaking...she has no convictions other than "get me outta Alaska", there's a world out there!

Memo to HuffPost: You can stop including stories about this Igloo Trash now. Nobody cares.

Agreed 100%.

Mentioning her is not good for the Democrats, nor the country. She's a disgrace and should be ignored as such. If the Republicans want to make a star or a leader of her, leave them to it.

I'm so proud of my fellow HuffPo commenters! Finally a Palin thread, here a few days, and still only 83 comments.
Way to go my friends, keep it up! This woman doesn't deserve our attention.

Sarah Palin needs to be in the fashion business. I think she would do quite well.
I could see her selling costume jewelry on some cable shopping network.

Do you think we'd see her morph into Joan Rivers?

Is Sarah Palin even intelligent enough to hawk jewelry, cosmetics or clothing on a cable shopping network? She might have to know something without a handler. She looks lovely, but there's absolutely nothing inside that head.

HP: This story has been here for a week, and look at the number of comments. Don't you think you're overdoing this a bit? We're sick of this broad. Enough already.

You would think she would have paid a bit of attention so when it was over she could at least do her own makeup with taste...or her hair.....surely in two months you figure out what they do everyday and could do it yourself.
