Reverend Wright

Chicago Breaking News:

For the first time since his retirement last spring, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. returned to the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ this morning with two goals: glorifying God and vilifying the media.

In honor of Trinity's 47th anniversary, Wright preached Sunday worship services in place of Rev. Otis Moss III, who was attending his father's farewell from the pulpit of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in Cleveland.

Why is the media once again reporting Rev. Wrights every move? They HATE him but can't seem to get enough of what he has to say. He should continue to talk junk about the media, hannity, elizabeth all the rest of them because for some strange reason they seem to think that the man doesn't have any rights.

This guy's liberation theology is not biblical. He should read his Bible carefully! God does not only care about blacks, but every body.

“The prophetic theology of the black church is a theology of liberation…of transformation, and ultimately a theology of reconciliation. The Apostle Paul said, ‘Be ye reconciled one to another, even as God was in Christ reconciling the world to God’s self.’ God does not desire for us, as [His] children, to be at war with each other, to see each other as superior or inferior, to hate each other, abuse/ misuse each other, define each other or put each other down."

"The 3rd principle in the prophetic theology of the Black Church has always been at the heart of the N American experience. When Richard Allen and Absalom Jones were dragged out of St. George’s Methodist in PA during the same year, 1787, when the Constitution was framed in PA, for daring to kneel at their altar next to white worshipers, they founded the Free African Society, and welcomed white members into their congregation to show reconciliation was the goal, not retaliation.”

“Reconciliation, the years have taught me, is where the hardest work is found for those of us in the Christian faith, however, because it means some critical thinking and reexamination of faulty assumptions. The prophetic theology of the black church has always seen and still sees all of God’s children as sisters and brothers, equals who need reconciliation, who need to be reconciled as equals, in order for us to walk together into the future which God has prepared for us.”

----Rev Jeremiah Wright.

I've never heard anyone, including Rev. Wright, say that God ONLY cares about Black people. Black Liberation Theology came from the misunderstanding and mis-teachings that God is white (as the visually manifestation of His son, Jesus, is white) and therefore Christianity was the "white mans' religion. Black Liberation Theology teaches that Christianity is every mans' religion.

How is this about Rev. Wright being addicted to anything....he didn't write the report as a matter of fact the Church wouldn't even let the media in on Sunday BUT of course this is all Rev. Wrights fault that the media keeps reporting on his every move.

Since Obama already has the job... it would be wonderful if he did invite Rev. Wright to the inaugural.

My sentiments exactly.

But depending upon the strength of any anti-Obama sentiment, time will tell.

He could have been in the CONGREGATION if he'd had the guts to actually come and listen to a whole sermon, or the desire to worship.
