Leaked photos which have been posted on various internet blogs show an original shot of Jessica posing for Campari, in an image which was later airbrushed.

The newlywed is seen posing in a white strapless short suit with a black belt on the limited edition calender, snapped by celebrity-photographer Mario Testino.

However in the picture which is not airbrushed, Jessica looks softer and more natural.

In the before picture, Jessica reveals a stunning hourglass figure with a few more curves around the hips and waist.

Oh my God, they airbrushed the pool!

They could have airbrushed 30 pound ON to her and she'd still be 100 times hotter than 98% of the women on the planet. Anyone see her in Sin City?

Ok, let's just vote already....

Do you like Before or After?

I vote for Before.

Before 1 After 0

I like both.

The before is way better, I agree. I think it's much sexier, because it looks less pulled and rigid... the real picture has an inviting "je ne sais quoi"? The second one looks like its trying too hard, which is rather superfluous when you look like Jessica Alba.

I grew up super-skinny in the black community and skinny I felt unattractive. The people I grew up around had the exact opposite of mainstream American beauty standards.

fat (not obese) = well curved, voluptuous, beautiful
skinny = sickly, ugly, boyish
old = wise, learned, experienced
young = immature, foolish, ditzy

Say what you will about the black community, but it does not buy into this mainstream nonsense in general. The world should take a closer look at black American self esteem instead of its current Hip-Hop obsession, methinks. There is much to be learned from us in this regard.

No thanks

As far as I am concerned Jessica Alba is fine without any airbrushing. The real thing is welcome in my world anyday.

I always presume every ad photo is airbrushed and unrealistic (even when the subject is not human).

This is a totally different photo! Look at the armpits, the shadows, the hair, etc etc etc.! As a picture puzzler, this would not even rate at kindergarten level! Wakey Wakey!

Yeah, what you said. The first one looks like it could even be a different person.

    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 09:31 AM on 12/11/2008

I think you're wrong. It is EXACTLY the same photo of Alba. The background is different but the pose, the hair, everything about HER is the same except of course where they slimmed her down.

The reason this is problematic is the message it sends to women. Basically it says we're all fat and unattractive unless we are stick thin with a huge bustline.

It's not realistic. It's nonsense. It needs to stop. She looks GREAT in the first photo.

It is not the same photo. Look at the position of the knee. Look at the all the details that have NOTHING to do with making someone pretty. A lot of wasted effort if you ask me.

That said, the final picture probably has all sort of things done to it. But my money is that the two pictures were different from the get go.

They also airbrushed her face to have a different expression and the background to be a different place.

Er, It is very probable that they have airbrushed her.....but the pictures shown are NOT the same picture. Same shoot? yeah. Probably taken seconds apart....but definitely not the same picture. check out the knees. her legs are positioned differently....as is the angle of her head. super-impose the two and you will see that they are different photos.

It's a sad commentary that Jessica Alba's body is not considered "hot" enough for an alcohol ad. How many women in this nation have eating disorders and how many are going to feel worse about themselves because one of the most beautiful women in the world has to be airbrushed to appear thinner?

    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:03 PM on 12/10/2008

Not only is this photoshop job demeaning and evidence of the serious body image issues we must deal with...

But it is also a terrible photoshop job!

I don't understand why "fashion", whoever these weird creatures pretend to be, seems to be infatuated with skeleton thin women. It's not beautiful. It's very ugly. But, because they get to wear all the "hottest" styles, they're supposed to be something to aspireto.

I am a real man. Real men are attracted to REAL women with breasts, hips, and a nice sized booty. Taking a beautiful woman like Jessica Alba and destroying her beauty by "stickifying" her is disgusting. It looks nasty to see a woman that way, not because she is that way, but because we know it's unnatural and inhuman.

If they were any such thing as a real fashion designer, they'd know how to make clothes that make ALL sizes of people look good without having to force their cheap made-in-Taiwan wear to look good through graphic manipulation. Sorry Campari but that style is outdated, played out and looks like crap. Go get some talent buddy. Then again, when you've got ignorant harpies deciding what's good and what's bad in fashion, you end up with Campari, ugly over-used and abused garbage "style" for stick figures that only looks good on a mannequin.

I appreciate the thought you put into your comments but would like to point out where your argument goes awry............

Like you, my husband is a real man. He happens to be very attracted to me, a real woman. I, however, have small breasts and a small "booty". Based on your logic, I am not a "real" woman. Can you see how your statements are equally harmful to women and their sense of self as the"stickifying" Ms. Alba is?

I dream of a day when all people, women and men, are appreciated for who they are and what they look like regardless of what category their body shape fits into.

I think..I hope..that he meant to say the "real women" were just that..big boobs or little..we are who we are..and don't need to be airbrushed in either direction!

    Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:56 PM on 12/10/2008

From the "real women" of the world..thank you. It's easy to get the impression that men really fall for this crap..though my husband tells me not. Jessica Alba is a beautiful woman..a mom, a wife, a terrific actress..and that is all there should be to that! My husband has had a crush on her since she first showed up on Dark Angel..and thinks she looks great the way she really is! My Compari just went down the drain..and it will be a cold day in hell before another bottle comes into this house!

Way to turn a health debate into a chest-beating display of your manhood that is designed only to appeal to women.

I suppose all "real" men drive whatever car you drive and wear whatever clothes you wear, as well. And, of course, gay men are just figments of our imaginations.

Surely the higher ground would be to appreciate the deeper facets of any person, not just their T&A.

I have a friend that is a model and we were talking about this topic. Her thesis, which I think makes sense, is that fashion today is primarily run by gay men and they like women to look like teenage boys. They're not interested in the fleshy parts (chest, hips, butt) that heterosexual men like so they design for and pick models that perpetuate this look.

Oh brother. When all else fails, blame the gays.

Give me a break.
