Clean Coal

The American public heard a lot about "clean coal" during the election this year, but a new campaign from the Reality Coalition argues it simply doesn't exist.

A multi-million dollar TV, print and online campaign from Crispin Porter Bogusky, Boulder, Colo., gives a tour of a "state of the art clean coal facility" in order to set the record straight. A TV spot that began running on network TV this week stars a hard-hat wearing, clipboard-toting guide who invites viewers on a tour of the facility. But when he walks through the door, he is in a barren field. "The machinery is kind of loud," he shouts above the wind, "but that is the sound of clean coal technology." He goes on to explain that while burning coal is a leading cause of global warming, the "remarkable clean coal technology you see here changes everything." The spot ends with the on-screen message "In reality, there is no such thing as clean coal" and the Web site address ThisIsReality.org.

A real plan to bring Green energy without waiting for the government
Alternative energy even with tax cuts are priced out of reach for the average Joe. Those that rent are out of luck for any kind of structural changes. That price doesn’t have to stop us from using green energy, collectively we can build green power plants sound to big for 1 person or even 10 it is. But by asking the environmental groups to come together they can. They can do it by setting up donation fund for the actual building of green power plants. Asking for legislation to help with this is great but they are two slow, and we need energy independence now. Please sign this petition to bring them together to start bringing us green energy http://www.thepetitionsite.com/petition/651803881.

the $$ DOES stop us from going green. You don't want to know what the price tags are for CO2 capture technology in its beginning stages. Proven APC technology alone is not CHEAP. SOMEONE has to pay for it. So why not instead of paying for pointless tv ads - that half the people in this country really don't understand - why don't they start flipping the tab for air pollution control projects across the country. 50% of this nation's power comes from coal. That doesn't change overnight. Another 20% comes from nuclear. Do you know how much comes from renewable sources? LESS THAN 10%! You can't abandon the industry that outright supports this nation. Just like you can't just abandon oil. It's infused in our way of life. To uproot these industries would devastate what's left of our economy. Green energy is economical at this stage.
